As part of I&I’s continual effort to keep readers up to date in regard to the carbon tales, we take a dive into Climate Realism’s September fact check. What we learn is what we already knew — the alarmists are not committed to truth, they are committed to their lazy narrative.
Let’s begin with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ claim that seas are rising “faster than at any point in recorded history with far-reaching consequences,” adding, because there is nothing to fulminate over without the grift, that “we need to urgently scale up climate action” as well as “international cooperation.”
Climate Realism, a coalition of several reliable policy groups, says this is “demonstrably false” and points to the Holocene era of roughly 8,000 to 11,000 years ago in which sea levels rose 8 millimeters to 12 millimeters a year, far higher than the 3.4 millimeters annually over the three-decade period that began in 1993. “Atmospheric carbon dioxide levels,” says Climate Realism, “are clearly not the sea level control knob.”
Big fat lie (our words) No. 2 is the assertion that the climate crisis, worsened by a warmer atmosphere, caused the August Grand Canyon flash flooding that killed two and left another missing.
“This is nonsense,” says Climate Realism. The Grand Canyon was carved by flooding over millions of years. “Flooding is not foreign to the Grand Canyon and is in fact an essential part of its geological history.” It’s also a fact that deaths due to flooding have been “fairly common” at the park since its opening more than a century ago.
Of course there’s the news that September 2026 was the hottest month on record. This is misleading. If we go by daytime highs, 1934, 1936 and 2012 were hotter. September was warm because overnight lows were more elevated than usual.
Climate Realism also debunks the allegations that global warming is a threat to New York apple growers; is causing wildfires to be more frequent and intense; and is also the force behind coastal flooding along the New Jersey shore.
The warming alarmists have always been shameless, and their dishonesty rivals the propaganda that communist and fascist juntas have spread since the early 20th century. Saving the planet is not their aim. Their objective is to replace capitalism and free markets with centrally planned, command-and-control regimes that they control. They want the public to see concerned activists when in reality their racket operates under a big-tent circus of frauds, hustlers, socialists/communists, enviers, misanthropes who believe man is but a worm to be exterminated, those who have never gotten past their high school years and are desperate for social cred, and everyday lunatics. The con has lost a great deal of its clout, but as long as it’s still around, we’ll be here to keep the public informed.

Someone needs to tell Climate Realism that the Holocene era is not in “recorded history”.
And that cherry-picking “daytime highs” instead of measuring the whole 24-hour period is bad science.
And that apple growers across the country are hurting due to warming.
But the last paragraph seems to be solely about I&I’s unhinged politics. They seem to think that scientists primary motive is the disruption of society.
We at I&I are a little confused by your response. First, isn’t considering only data since “recorded history” began also cherry-picking? You seem to want to ignore data from the Holocene era only because it counters the climate narrative. Your point that apple growers are “hurting” appears to be contradicted by the data, which shows that apple prices have been going up more slowly than overall inflation for the past 26 years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Lastly, the final paragraph in the editorial doesn’t say anything about scientists’ motives. It doesn’t mention scientists at all. But we suspect, and not without evidence, that their motive when it comes to climate research isn’t the “disruption of society” so much as it is getting published, which often requires them to play up worst-case scenarios. I stopped listening to the sky-is-falling predictions a long time ago.
All the predictions are part of a larger, very odd psychological phenomenon: the need to assume disaster is at hand.
When I was a kid in the 1960s, it was overpopulation. That’s all we heard about. Too many people – we were all going to starve!
In the 1970s, it was global cooling. The wheat fields of the Midwest were going to freeze. We were all going to starve!
The 1980s gave us acid rain, nuclear winter, and…global warming. What happened to the cooling? No explanation. Now, we were all going to bake!
The 1990s-2000s saw another odd evolution – climate change! Not cooling, not warming, but simply “change”.
Now, for some reason, we’re back to warming again.
But there’s a new catastrophe on the horizon: artificial intelligence. It will, of course, kill us all!
The people making these predictions are very strange, and are most certainly not worth listening to.
The 1841 book, “Extraordinary Popular Delusions, The Madness of Crowds” by Charles MacKay tells of many manias over centuries led by gullible people attracting millions to figuratively jump off cliffs in mass delusions like lemmings.
Each delusion is followed by another one.
Quit shocking since we think of ourselves as smart, learned humans.
Not so my fine frineds.
We , collectively, do not seem to learn much from the past, and as Mr Dean points out below, we are susceptible to them coming at us a rapid rate these days.
It’s a shame, but notice that the same types of leaders of global warming give the same arguments as the leaders and “experts” that assured us the COVID “vax” was “safe and effective.”
Such peering as this can be used to spot nearly any nationwide BS.
The crisis is always urgent and any marketing attempt (to curtail and eviscerate the supposed crisis) can and will be used. For example, global warming has the same urgency associated with it as “nuclear winter” (another crisis that was pointed to in the 1980s (or around there).
When censorship is available (as it was with the COVID “vax”), use it. Try to make the Government a partner-to show that the conclusions were authoritative and meritorious-and that only a moron would disagree with those conclusions.
By the way this type of persuasion was also used to promote nuclear winter, overpopulation scares and even attempts to ban advertising.
Besides the arguments of “urgency” and “authority” is the argument of “scientific eureka-ism.” Of course, like an auditors report that has 20 paragraphs in it to show that a shady company is squeaky-clean, the science is non-replicable and not understandable, or what is understandable doesn’t make sense.
Also, see if charities spring up to fund this type of charlatanism. Follow the money.
Many times, in order to find the perpetrator of the scam, “follow the money” is a good strategy to uncover the blarney-meisters.
Thus, when global warming or COVID “vax” scams are involved, spot who are the leaders: They usually will fall in the class of: Leftists, scientific charlatans, so-called “experts”, or Governmental stooges or scammers, all of whom are certain that the sky is falling and only those who believe that the sky is really falling will escape, usually by buying things the scammers condone (like, in the global warming crisis, solar windows or solar glasses or even non-gas powered cars).
In my opinion, I think “…the apple growers are hurting due to warming” because they listen to you and your hot air ramblings.
I am not a global warming alarmist. All of the solutions profered (are about taking my money or my freedom.
That said, we (humans collectively) are now burning 100 million barrels of oil every day.
Do any of you at I&I think this might affect the air we breath?
Here is a great visual, if the Earth was a ball 18 inches in diameter and you shrink wrapped it with the plastic from a heavy duty garbage bag that shrink wrap represents the entire breathable atmosphere.
The global warming hype is just another “keep em in fear” component of the daily manipulation we all experience.
