I & I Editorial BoardGlobal warming hysteria has been cooling off. But it’s not cold-on-the-slab dead yet. So it’s important to continue to roll out the reality. If we don’t, the zealots will rearm and flood the zone with their mendacious narrative.
From various sources, here is an update on the facts and the fiction:
- Summers are still summer in America – hot, but not as hot as the climatistas want us to believe they are. University of Alabama in Huntsville climate researcher Roy Spencer, who keeps up with this sort of thing, tells us summer’s hottest days in the U.S. “Have Barely Warmed in the Last 40 Years.” He continues: “Of course, you would never know this based upon media reports … in fact, most people are probably under the impression that our hottest days are rapidly getting hotter.”
- A month ago, the New York Times reported, citing “scientists,” that “Severe heat this summer killed three times as many people in European cities as would have died had humans not warmed the planet by burning fossil fuels.” Is that right? No, it’s not, says a fact-check service provided by a consortium of policy groups.
These are not real mortality figures.” The Times “admits that these figures from Dr. Malcolm Mistry, a professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, are derived from the modeling of mortality trends in 854 European cities, not observational data, which the Times says ‘[a]re not yet widely available.’ Thus, they are attempting to pass a claim off as established fact without supporting evidence.”
- The claims that man-made global warming is causing island nations to sink into the sea won’t go away. They should. H. Sterling Burnett of the Heartland Institute notes that even with “modest sea level rise,” the island nations that are supposedly drowning “have increased in size, population, and prosperity amid modest climate change.” There’s simply “no real data (that) shows that the oceans are about to swamp these countries.”
- The alarmists have warned for decades that global warming was going to cause bigger and badder storms, including, according to federal functionaries, an “above-normal 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.” Except – “no hurricanes made landfall in the United States” in September, says meteorologist Anthony Watts. It was “the first time that’s happened in a decade.”
- Solar farms are supposed to be keys to saving us from global warming, yet they raise nighttime air temperatures from 5 to 7 degrees (3 to 4 Celsius) Fahrenheit. Shouldn’t someone say something about this?
- Here’s a point we’ve been making for decades from Substacker Ignominious: “In 1875 very few sensors were placed in very few areas. We have extremely limited data for the first 100 years (1850-1950) so temperature comparisons are unreliable.” He also mentions that “temperature is local and changes acre to acre and block to block due to elevation, wind, rain, and land type. Precise worldwide temperature cannot be known.”
We could go on. And we will. Because there is so much to debunk, so many “facts” that need to be untwisted, so much “truth” that just isn’t so.

There are six (6) fundamental “facts” that one needs to know to understand ‘climate change’:
Fact 1: If one believes in “climate change”, aka the anti-human movement that was forced to change its name from “global warming”, then that person is in a “Cult” and is a “Cultist”. And their religion is headquartered in the Church of Anthropocentric Global Warming.
Fact 2: Every one of the hysterical assertions and predictions from the Cultists and Cultic Priests of the Church of Anthropocentric Global Warming have been proven to be false or irrelevant or deliberate lies … not just a few, but every last one.
Fact 3: Every Cultic Priest of the Church of Anthropocentric Global Warming has personally profited to amounts ranging from hundreds of thousands to tens of millions of dollars peddling their false ideology.
Fact 4: Anthropocentric Global Warming Cultists have surrendered all rationality and thinking ability, choosing instead to unquestioningly suck down the rancid pap the Cultic Priests are dishing out.
Fact 5: As a result of Cultists surrendering all rationality and thinking ability to the Cultic Priests of the Church of Anthropocentric Global Warming, Cultists refuse to investigate (among many other issues) the history of atmospheric CO2 content, cloud cover, glaciers or glacial research or planet Earth’s ice content, or glacial or interglacial periods, or world wide sea levels or sea level measurements, or continental uplift or subsidence, or solar cycles, or proxy thermal data sets such as tree rings and ice cores, or even the simplest of all, thermometers and thermal measurements.
Fact 6: The Cultists and Cultic Priests of the Church of Anthropocentric Global Warming are no different than the cultists or cultic priests at the Aum Shinrikyo, Branch Davidian, Heaven’s Gate, Peoples Temple, Solar Temple, or, or, or … they all “drank the koolaid”.
Consider the placement of those thermometers and the opportunity for data manipulation. As a hypothetical, 25 years ago a thermometer was in the middle of rural farmland. Now that farmland is a parking lot, ie a UHI (urban heat unit) which retains heat from the sun and returns higher temperatures than when it was farmland. Is that climate change? Of course not. Do you adjust the data or declare loudly the planet is heating up? Rhetorical question.
I write a daily email report on, among other things, tropical cyclones of various types. One item I remind my readers of now and then is the “weather satellite storm.” That’s a TC that forms well out to sea, and dissipates without ever approaching land. We only know of it from the satellites. Our forebears could not count them, much less name them. This year the Atlantic has had 12 named storms. Exactly half are sat-storms. In the Pacific and Indian Oceans the score is also 50-50, and for twice as many storms. The climate alarmists would have us worry about ‘the growing number’ of named storms. But in fact we lack the data on how many there are across the past two centuries, much less all time.
The Leftists/Progressive/Socialists-Communists are doing their best to change our institutions and culture. That is the common thread of all their protests and harangues.
Even though none of what they say makes any sense, they-like the Fascists they all are (even if they don’t realize it) are hoping to shout us down and eventually-being the per-fervid anti-Americans they are-eventually snuff us out.
This goes for all (and probably more) of the following institutions: Immigration/deportation; radical and violent Islamism;campaigns against ICE (and the Antifa organization who fund them); the political adulteration of our Justice System and Criminal Justice System (which adulteration Biden heaped on us and which his American-hating Administration flacks, and the many unconscious Democrats everywhere misuse while trying their best to dump on America).
Additionally, and as this I&I column points out, “Climate Change” (whose original trajectories were Global Cooling>then Global Warming both of which has now taken on the veneer and clothing of Climate Change) was one of the earliest tracks of the chaos.
I believe this Global Warming/Climate Change BS was used to see if normal Americans could be encouraged to subscribe and accept it.
While Climate Change has been authoritatively dismissed by conservative and impartial meteorologists/scientists as being a fraud and a scam, its concept and true meaning is much more than Climate Change.
The common theme in all these poses is Anti-Americanism and anti-Western culture. By indulging these poses we are not arguing whether or not certain disputations are true or false, but rather we are arguing about whether or not America and Western-Culture will continue to exist or not.
The main reason, I believe, in harnessing today’s protests is to sow chaos-not to find out the truth of the argument made. The truth is the last thing that is cared about; anarchy and chaos are the first.
Make no mistake about it: The Fascists who argue about our institutions at the top of their voices and use bullets to impress and kill their victims will eventually smother our society.
And while now they protest and screech for free speech, once they gain power Our free speech will be their first victim.
Phoenix changed the way the record heat deaths to include “heat-related deaths” which are drug overdoses during the summer – of which we have many. This is all for an effort to extract more taxpayer money for their cause.
Phoenix has always been hot in the summer but the media is trying to sell us that it is hotter. Sadly for them, this year is not as hot as our very hot 2024 year.

What a load of pap. You cite a fact checking organization funded by oil companies and a conservative trust, which is also funded by oil companies. Good job, being the critical thinker that I am, I’m sure that’s a very accurate source. Weird how my house insurance premiums keep going up, what with all the fires and floods. And I sure don’t remember growing up with smoke in there air every summer, but I puff a lot of weed, so maybe I just forgot. We could have your expert team do a fact check.

Yup, you sure are in the know with the oil companies. Maybe you can explain their rapacious strategy letting the oil price go down steadily for 5 years. You say we “cite a fact checking organization funded by oil companies and a conservative trust, which is also funded by oil companies.” OK, show your work. Please provide the details of this funding. Tell us how many dollars these groups are receiving from oil companies, then also show through a contract or any other arrangement that the organization(s) will produce research that it favorable to the oil industry – show us the pay-for-play.
Further provide evidence that organizations that accept oil company funding are shaping their research in return for funds by lying or omitting facts or in another way. You imply that there is a nefarious association but give no facts to back up your claims. Feel free to do this now. Surely you must have examples that back your insinuation.
Also make a coherent argument as to why private-sector funding for groups that don’t follow the global warming narrative is somehow worse than what has been taking place in our universities. It is well known in academia that researchers whose work might cast doubt on the man-caused global warming story are denied funding. If you don’t know this, it’s because you have limited your reading and exposure to other sources and live in a bubble that allows no dissent.
Your fuzzy memory about smoke in the air when you were growing up is not compelling. We all have memories of how things were when we were young, some clear, others entirely false, still others clouded by puffing a lot of weed. Let’s have some data that proves your point.
You say our lies are sickening but don’t say what they are nor do you have a single counterpoint to support your contention.
You accuse us having a few bucks in our pocket, which we assume means you believe we are funded by oil companies. If only. We have received not a single penny from an oil company, oil industry association or oil industry executive who wants to buy our cooperation. We earn only a few dollars from our contributors and ad placements. We operate this site because we want the truth to be spread wider than the myth that man-made global warming is a threat.
If there is to be a dystopia, it will be brought on by those such as yourself. We don’t want our children and grandchildren living in post-modern world where energy is intermittent and, when available, expensive, which is the outcome the climate zealots, some knowingly, others not, have long been agitating for.
Finally, yes, we have a conscience, and it’s clean because we are clear thinkers who have seen through the muddle that the climate fanatics have thrown up over more than three decades.
