History’s Biggest Liars?

The “experts” who have told us that man-made climate change is a grave threat must have stumbled across the Winston Churchill comment about duplicity, because they know the truth has a hard time catching up to lies. They’ve also relied on lying by omission, an offense that can’t be blamed on innocent oversight.

One of Churchill’s greatest quips warns us that “a lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” Propagandists know this is true.

Fabulists also lie by leaving out important facts. Such as burying the medieval warm period. Former University of Alabama assistant geological sciences professor Matthew Wielicki explained in a Substack post the day before Earth Day how “the deliberate erasure of past climatic states” is used “to support alarmist conclusions.”

“Every year, new temperature records are breathlessly announced as though the planet is plunging into uncharted climate chaos. Mainstream headlines proclaim things like ‘Humanity just lived through the hottest 12 months in at least 125,000 years’ or ‘This year virtually certain to be warmest in 125,000 years, EU scientists say.’ We’re told, often without context or qualification, that the warming we’re experiencing is unlike anything seen in hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of years.”

Of course these assertions deserve our suspicion, because “climate authorities, especially the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), built their entire narrative on the selective memory of Earth’s climate past,” says Wielicki, who considers himself an “Earth science professor-in-exile,” which of course is what happens when researchers stray from the climate alarmist narrative.

The contravening evidence missing from the alarmists’ account is the Medieval warm period, “a globally recognized warm epoch from roughly 950 to 1250 AD,” says Wielicki. It “poses an existential threat to the IPCC-endorsed narrative that modern warming is unprecedented. Initially documented extensively, the MWP was systematically erased from mainstream climate records following the infamous hockey stick graph popularized by Michael Mann in 1999.”

The global warming clique has a history of distributing misinformation and disinformation. It uses flawed computer models to back its claims, exaggerates, embellishes and manipulates data to further its anti-human, anti-capitalism agenda.

When we think of some of the biggest lies in our history – the income tax will be levied only on the richest few, Social Security is a good deal from the New Deal, Stalin’s Soviet Union was a fine place, Joe Biden is in great health, the coronavirus posed an existential threat to billions and wasn’t cooked up in a Chinese lab – where do we rank the climate fearmongering?

Given its staying power, it wouldn’t be out of place if were No. 1.

Maybe after nearly four decades of what is clearly nonsense, climate alarmism is losing momentum. But this doesn’t mean the warming zealots will become productive citizens. They’ll find another matter to screech and rage about, because with radicals, the issue is never the issue, the issue is the revolution. That means that free enterprise, capitalism and free men are always the targets.

    • I’ve have been a pilot since 1963. I fly through the atmosphere practically every day. I have seen every kind of weather imaginable. Seen high, and lows, and lived to tell of it. Here’s a clue, in winter the snow falls but the alarmists blame it on, oh wait, Globull warming is not the favored term now, it’s “Climate Change” so the snow falling is blamed on Climate Change. It’s weather. It changes all day long every day. The whole global warming/climate change scam bullschiff has been for one thing, control. Control what we drive. Control where we live. Control what we eat. All under the benevolent guidance of our “superiors”. It was bullschiff when it started. It is bullschiff today.

  • If global warming is man-made because of our energy use, why have the proponents of that theory not proposed reducing our energy use by a voluntary lowered birth rate and far less immigration, if any? There are 200 million more energy users in the States than the 140 million when many of us were born. 200 million more energy users now for a total of 340 million!

    • Good thought. Thank you. Of course, we could just “get on with it” and stop trotting out “man made global warming” as the coming death star. Wouldn’t it be nice to live without screaming climate banshees who themselves don’t do squaddoosh for Earth except add to pollution.

  • Ummmm, the “golden age’ of earth (Atlantis, dinosaurs, pyramids, etc) had a climate THAT NEVER EXPERIENCED RAIN, ONCE!!! EVER!!
DIDJA’ KNOW that NONE of the days of the week are named AFTER Abrahamic faith? It’s named after the gods KILLED in seven days of darkness….
WE, are warming BACK TO NORMAL after the Younger-Dryas (ice age) of 12,500 years ago.

  • I’d like chime in with something in support of this article. I enjoy studying history, and around 10 years ago (I’m sorry I can’t be more precise than that), I was covering the topic of the Medieval Warm Period in some detail. I was repeatedly googling that term over several days and reading up on various results.
And then one day, literally overnight, the search results that Google provided to that exact same search query COMPLETELY CHANGED. Overnight, literally, the results switched over to a bunch of preachy harangues that you shouldn’t believe in the MWP and were a bad person if you did and that it was a “controversial” idea rather than a well-accepted historical model that was used in a wide variety of historical research like it had been the day before.
This was all before the public controversy about search engine censorship, but it was so stark a change that it stuck in my mind.

    • For some reason I can’t respond by clicking on “like”, so I wanted to reply: Your comment is a very interesting example of Google propagandizing instead of informing; also the way Google did it gives the example a lot more impact-thus making it a lot more convincing of Googles intent to mis-inform.
      Thanks for sending it.

    • Google is still manipulating search results. Google is part of the lying, fake news corporate media and it uses its search engine to make certain you can’t find objective information that goes against the far-left narrative. Google along with the legacy media is an enemy of American prosperity and it should be treated like one.

  • So when are all those Climate Change idiot celebrities and politicians all going to start flapping their arms real hard and try to fly?
