‘Vaccine Passports’: A Trojan Horse To Further Shrink Your Rights?

By far, the worst idea for a post-COVID-19 “reset” is the vaccine passport. The idea is that anyone who wants to travel, attend a concert or sports event, go to the theater, hold a family gathering, or perhaps even eat in a restaurant will need a “passport” proving they’re COVID-19 Clean. Who knew that authoritarianism would show up wearing a white medical smock?

Don’t worry. They’ll tell you that it’s all for your safety. The bogey-man, er, virus, is ready to spring at you again from the dark. But you really must be able to prove that you’re worthy of the privileges of open society before you can take part. That means vaccine passports.

And, yes, it’s being considered, despite White House claims to the contrary.

“The government is not now, nor will we be supporting a system that requires Americans to carry a credential,” White House spokesperson Jen Psaki said just over a week ago. “There will be no federal vaccinations database and no federal mandate requiring everyone to obtain a single vaccination credential.”

Funny, because just one week earlier an unnamed administration official said that they .would push the newly-Woke American corporations to do their enforcement job for them. No vaccine, no service.

Biden has let it be known that he’s in favor of the idea.

“President Joe Biden has predicted that life in the US could be back to normal by Christmas, and as more Americans are vaccinated each day, these vaccine credentials — commonly called “vaccine passports” — could be key to a return to normalcy by the end of the year,” noted CNN recently.

Already, some states are eager to impose the ideas on those who visit. New York has its “Excelsior Pass,” and Hawaii is considering something similar to get its COVID-sick travel industry back on its feet.

The World Health Organization, however, would only say it isn’t thinking about such a move “at this time.” Don’t worry; the globalizers would love nothing more than more control.

Why is this a bad idea? Because both infections and deaths, contrary to what you might be reading, are plunging (see big chart above), as the Powerline blog recently pointed out. Every day brings the U.S. a step closer to herd immunity from the Wuhan virus, both from those who have caught the virus and from those who have been vaccinated.

So why the talk of vaccine passports? It has little to do with concern over the disease spreading, everything to do with control. It’s the same urge as locking down the economy. The authoritarian urge to force others to obey first by weakening their rights, then using their own comprehensive personal data as a tool to control them.

After a while, we’ll all get used to being told what to do. There will be social punishments for those who refuse, as we already see in today’s Marxist-inspired “woke” and “cancel” cultures, both built on enormous lies about America’s history and culture, but especially about race. Add science lies to the list.

From Biden saying we “might” get back to normal by Christmas, to Anthony Fauci suggesting that we multiple mask and that even those who are vaccinated shouldn’t eat at indoor restaurants or travel, to the freshly-Woke CEOs who eagerly serve as the new Health Order’s willing Centurions, we’ll soon find we are not just being told what to do, but when to do it and how. We’ll be ordered around like serfs by bureaucrats, elected and unelected officials, and the corporate chieftains of the new progressive order.

“Science,” they’ll say, “Jump.” And you’ll jump.

Goodbye Constitution, hello petty authoritarianism and Woke fascism. The end of our precious individual rights, which made us the envy of the world for over 200 years.

“Vaccine passports,” if we accept them at either the state or federal level, will in time turn into routine exercises of arbitrary government power. Using fear, government can already get average citizens to do almost anything, including obey absurd, nonscientific dictates.

A YouGov survey finds that those age 18 to 24 are most frightened about the prospect of resuming their social lives, even though they’re the least affected by the COVID-19 virus and have virtually no risk of either death or hospitalization.

Meanwhile, a separate Gallup survey, shows that Americans overestimate their actual threat of being hospitalized from COVID-19 by more than 10 times.

As South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace (who encourages all to get vaccinated), recently noted: “Vaccine passports are, unfortunately, exactly what government would do at the end of a crisis — find a way to keep doing harm and keep taking away our freedom to do business, go to school, or move around. Free men and women should stand up and say no.”

We couldn’t agree more.

  • The answer is mass civil disobedience. Businesses trying to recover from last year can decide to side with enemies of freedom and privacy at the cost of lost business long after the virus issue has faded away.
