Big Media Show Why You Can’t Trust Them To Report Fairly On Biden’s Immigration Fiasco

I&I Editorial

The southern border is now being hit with a huge wave of unaccompanied children, the wholly predictable consequence of Joe Biden’s foolish open-border immigration policies. Once again, photos show “kids in cages.” But this time, the Big Media are mostly silent, or making excuses, as are the Democrats who helped create this inhumane mess.

On Monday, as the crisis worsened and criticisms grew, Biden imposed a “lid” on the White House and, by extension, media coverage of the border disaster. Not without reason. Flustered White House spokesperson Jen Psaki was unable to answer a few simple, but direct, questions from Fox News’ Peter Doocy.

Nothing to see here, media. Go home.

Doocy’s questions were entirely straightforward, the kind any honest journalist would ask. But one in particular left Psaki stammering for a reply:

“Two years ago, President Biden said ‘We’re a nation that says, if you want to flee, and you’re fleeing opposition, you should come. They deserve to be heard. That’s who we are.’ Now he says, ‘I can say quite clearly, don’t come over.’ So why was his position different campaigning than it is governing?”

But Psaki offered no real answer. You can find it here, at about 15:28 into the presser, but without her verbal stumbles.

Even so, the questions Doocy posed were devastating, since they get at the very core of the problem: Biden’s reopening of the border to illegal immigrants. And the cynical media, not surprisingly, have a moral blind spot when it comes to leftist politicians and policies.

Don’t believe it?

During the Donald Trump years, “kids in cages” became a media catch-phrase to describe Trump’s “inhumane” policies. Enraged indignance was the emotion of the day.

A casual Google count of citations for “kids in cages” turns up 420 million mentions. So the far-left media, and their hyper-left allies in academia, did a great job of spreading the idea that Trump was putting kids in what both the Washington Post and Newsweek called “concentration camps.”

What about today?

First, for the record, today’s problem is far worse than under Trump. The total number of kids in border facilities peaked at 2,600 under his presidency. Under Biden, NBC.com reports, there are “more than 5,000 kids” locked up, many in the same “cages” that were built by Barack Obama — not by Donald Trump.

By overturning Trump’s tough-but-fair border rules, Biden has set off a mass exodus to the U.S., and placed thousands of children into what under Trump were considered inhumane conditions.

Indeed, leaked photos from centrist Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar to The Epoch Times shows it’s just as bad under Biden as under Trump.

And yes, the photos are disturbing.

Yet, from the very beginning, the current administration denied any culpability for the sudden border chaos that occurred after Biden signaled — wink, wink — he would be opening the border after Trump closed it.

As for “kids in cages,” the left will hear none of it. The media’s uncritical denial comes through loud and clear in this Feb. 23 headline from Reuters, after Biden announced he would put kids back in cages:

‘This is not kids being kept in cages’ – Psaki.” The White House equivalent of “these are not the droids you’re looking for.”

Add to that a couple of Washington Post headlines from about a week ago, also taking their cue from Psaki:

‘Kids in cages’ is a distraction. The real problem is a lack of migrant housing

‘No, Biden’s new border move isn’t like Trump’s ‘kids in cages’

Pathetic, isn’t it? But, don’t worry, the media remain sympathetic to the Democrats’ and poor, misunderstood Joe’s plight, as these two Associated Press headlines show:

Claim of ‘kids in cages’ hypocrisy is missing context

‘Very angry’: Democrats face tough choices on immigration

Yes. “Tough choices.” Unlike what Trump faced. Then there’s this wholly benign take on Biden’s policy from Vox, earlier this month:

Biden’s controversial decision to reopen temporary shelters for migrant children, explained

So Biden’s not putting “kids in cages,” or “concentration camps.” He’s merely “reopening temporary shelters” for them. And Vox is explaining it all to you, poor benighted soul.

That’s the media spin. It’s true that hard-left progressives in the Democratic Party have criticized Biden’s policy. But that’s only because it doesn’t go far enough.

You see, they want entirely open borders. Not because they give a fig about immigrants. No, Democrats believe that every new immigrant from south of our border will equal a new Democratic voter. Loosen voting laws, mandate vote by mail and online, import lots of new voters, and disenfranchise those born here.

That’s their model for permanent rule.

Just imagine if Trump had won the election and promptly doubled the number of kids housed on the border. The cries of “Nazi,” “racist,” or whatever other hate-fantasy the left has would be heard from coast to coast.

Not now. The left-media have again disgraced themselves in not truthfully reporting on an issue vital to our nation. Sadly, these days the media print lies like the Fed prints money. It’s up to all of us to hold them accountable.

  • “Democrats believe that every new immigrant from south of our border will equal a new Democratic voter…That’s their model for permanent rule.” I&I

The I & I Editorial Board nailed it. It is all about Absolute Power, a permanent democratic dictatorship. The more the USA mainstream media obscures the issue, the better the USA population can be kept comfortably numb and uninformed. But the rest of the world gets it. Stick a few thousand kids in Dallas, and you eventually get tens of thousands of aunts, uncles, cousins and start turning Texas blue. Fly others to the northern border, and try to turn those states blue via resettlement.

This so-called “Border Crisis” is a Planned ethnic/racial resettlement plan designed to cement permanent rule by the political party in power. The Soviets and China have done similar resettlement schemes to promote permanent communist rule over some of their territories. To call it a “Border Crisis” (which it is, complete with spreading COVID-19), however obscures its true nature as a Deliberate Resettlement Plan designed to change the USA demographic in ways supportive of an Agenda.

  • I think “big media” began to be untrustworthy, and two faced back in the days of Richard Nixon. It slowly got worse until we hit this century and they they fell head first into total corrupt and fraudulent propaganda, and left the “news” far behind.

  • The MSM needs to lose its liability protections. They are only in the business of keeping republicans accountable. I can remember when they at least tried a little to be fair but not anymore.

    • Remember, the New York Times would call the Hillary Clinton campaign to see if their story was ok to print, so much for all the news that’s fit to print.
