There are few people in this country who will be sad to see 2020 go. By most measures, this has been a terrible, awful, no good, very bad year.
There’s no need to recite the litany of disasters here, but we will add one on a personal note. One of the co-founders of Issues & Insights suddenly and tragically lost his wife at the start of the year, then spent three weeks in the hospital and rehab at the end of the year to recover from broken bones and a head injury after a fall.
Even through the worst of it, however, we have been deeply grateful for one thing: The steady and growing support of readers of Issues & Insights.
Over the past 12 months, we saw continued growth in I&I readers, more donations, and more outside contributors. We saw our work cited in more and more places. All of these are signs that readers appreciate what we bring to the table.
We’re not celebrities. We are seasoned journalists who let our work stand for itself. This is still a labor of love for all the I&I team, and we greatly appreciate the financial support and the kind words we’ve received from readers throughout 2020.
Next year will no doubt present its own challenges to the nation. You can bet that we will be here, providing honest, fact-based opinion and analysis that you can’t get anywhere else.
So to all of you from all of us, Happy New Year!!
Thank you for your New Year’s greeting! Short and sweet, like your Editorials and columns.
I could find longer Op-Ed piecess, more words, but you guys have been around too long to
think that’s impressive. And I’m impressed.
Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, TRIUMPH!
And a better 2021 to us all.
