I & I Editorial BoardBy now it’s obvious that the Democrats and their communications team that is also known as the legacy media are going to use the last month before the midterm elections to push the idea that were in a slump and Republicans need to be thrown out of office because it’s Donald Trump’s economy.
- On Sept. 26, House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries claimed that “Republican policies have tanked the economy” and the American people are aware of it. “Time for dramatic change,” he added.
- In July, Jeffries claimed “far too many” Americans “can barely survive” because “people are drowning in this failed Trump economy.”
- That same month, a USA Today opinion piece declared that Trump “fears accountability” in regard to “affordability” and “looks very much like a man without a plan to improve the economy.”
- The Atlantic more recently told us that “affordability” is the “new word” that Trump hates.
Clearly the strategy is working. A few months ago, Axios insisted that Trump is trying “to sell an economy voters aren’t buying.” The Associated Press reported last week that “Most Americans blame Trump for high prices as his economic approval hits new low, AP-NORC poll shows.” Web searches are filled with links to stories about voters turning on Trump due to the economy.
Yet prices and economic struggles are almost without exception created by Democrats’ tax heavy and regulate hard policies. The air is filled with noxious lies from the left that travel across the country while the truth is smothered.
The Democratic Party-media complex of course has done this before — in 1992 when Bill Clinton centered his challenge to incumbent President George H.W. Bush on his claim that the economy leading up to the election was the worst “in 50 years.” As we said about three weeks ago, it was true that Bush’s term hit a rough patch that began in July 1990. The recession, though, “ended in March 1991,” according to the National Bureau of Economic Research.
Please read that again. The downturn ended in March 1991, and the economy began to grow again. Not March 1992. Nor March 1993. The economy was expanding when Clinton was calling it the worst in a half century, and the media merrily went along for the so obviously disingenuous “I feel your pain” ride to the White House.
The truth this time around shows that during Trump’s second term, with Republicans controlling both chambers of Congress, inflation “has been 2.9%, which is 41% below the 5% average under (Joe) Biden and 55% below the 6.5% average under Biden while Democrats controlled both the House and Senate,” according to Just Facts.
Meanwhile, real median household income “grew from $85,210 to $87,460 during the first year of Trump’s second term, or by 2.6%, which is 445% higher than the average annual growth rate of 0.5% under Biden,” and the poverty rate is the lowest ever recorded in our nation’s history.
Real median household income is also at the best mark in our history, says tech entrepreneur and futurist Rod Martin, who adds that “the Atlanta Fed estimates that the economy is growing at an incredible 5% annual rate. That’s after years of Democrats promising us that 1.6% was ‘the new normal.’ It’s also after barely more than a year and a half of Trump back in office.”
Martin further points out that child poverty is now at 13.4%, “the lowest official rate ever recorded,” Hispanic poverty has fallen to a record low of 13.9%, and “real weekly earnings for blue-collar manufacturing workers are up 4.1% since January 2025” while “construction workers’ earnings are up an even higher 5%.”
Fox host Laura Ingraham recently reported that in one year of the second Trump administration, personal income grew more than in the four years that Joe Biden zombied his way through his (thank God) single term. Economist Larry Kudlow called it “the greatest story never told.” That’s because the media don’t want it to be told. The press will do nearly anything to see Democrats elected, and that almost always includes shading the truth and letting the Democrats lie without challenge and without consequence.

How can Jefferies, whose bio shows a great education, be so naive, stupid and delusional in his public life? Did he actually get those degrees?
“Affordability” is a rather ironic, two faced, rally cry as Democrats raise wages which others have to pay for, increase taxes which others have to pay for, force union membership which is 25-45% more expensive which others have to pay for and to try everywhere to enforce the monopolies of unions, the Teacher’s Union for example which others have to pay for and which millions of our students suffer a criminally inferior education under? And every union blatantly discriminates against every other non union voter/citizen.
I ask again, did Jefferies actually get those degrees since everything he supports belies the intellectual acumen those degrees would have conveyed on him?
In the classic “push me pull you,” there is nothing affordable about the policies Democrats and their shape-shift Democratic Socialists support, which our gullible big editors, also exclusively Democrats, then promote to voters.
How will the USA survive the Democrats’ many misdirected policies!
Thankfully, the Lamestream media is no longer the sole source of news and opinion. We now have talk radio as well as blogs. Still, we must do all we can to disseminate the good economic news.
Some of my friends wouldn’t vote for Trump if you paid them. Why? For two reasons.
1) They listen and listened to the mainstream media-and they think they are being informed rather than being hornswaggled.
Jimmy Carter when he was President really screwed up the economy. During the midterms nearly all the media (even though it wasn’t true) persuaded the voters that Reagan messed up the economy. This wasn’t true-it just took a few years before our economy began to boom-and this was due to Art Laffer’s (and Reagan’s) Supply Side Economics that Reagan practiced in 1980 to 1982 and after (1982 was the year of the midterms).
Reagan was re-elected in a landslide in the next Presidential election (1984) AFTER our economy began booming. This was after the 1982 midterms.
Thus, this is like Trump-who is saddled with Biden’s (and his Administration’s) terrible economic decisions and ignorance.
Reagan’s predicament is like President Trump’s who is being blamed for the repercussions and consequences of Biden’s lackadaisical and idiotic economic policies. Biden would either do too much of the wrong things and not enough of the right things.
If Trump runs in 2028, he would win in a heartbeat-because of what he’s done for the economy. However, what he’s done for the economy will show up only AFTER the midterms.
Apparently, Biden’s ignorance and idiocy had become a blessing to the Democratic and DSA demagogues.
Thus, unfortunately, Trump apparently won’t run. His speechwriters should emphasize that voters (who have children and grandchildren) will benefit from Trump’s economic magic. And if the Republicans lose in the midterms this country will be saddled with more Biden-like economic decisions.
Moreover young voters,who hopefully still want opportunity and freedom rather than hand-outs, big Government and socialism should also vote Republican in the midterms.
Unfortunately, like a homeless-person’s bad breath, the bad breath of the Biden Economy just lasts and lasts-and keeps on giving.
2) The second reason, of course, is if my friends had any brains they wouldn’t be my friend in the first place (LOL)!
These, of course, are my friends who will vote against Pres. Trump and the Republicans.
