Back in December, some 100 families living in the Marylander Condominiums complex were told they would have to leave their homes because the building was deemed “unfit for human habitation.”
Last week, a Maryland judge signed a final eviction notice, which could leave many of these families homeless.
Why?
Turns out that the complex has been besieged for years by a nearby homeless encampment that is “a haven for gangs, drugs, and prostitutes” and has “vaporized property values and caused millions in damage, scaring away the banks needed to finance repair,” the Washington Free Beacon reports.
But, instead of dealing with the vagrants, the county told residents to “have compassion” for them, while city officials insist that they won’t “criminalize the unhoused.”
Then, after some of these “unhoused” wrecked the building’s boiler and cut off the heat supply this winter, the county decided to evict … the residents.
Who would do such a thing? Well, would it surprise you that everyone on the Prince George’s County Council is a Democrat, and the county voted 86% for Kamala Harris in 2024?
This is the kind of warmth-of-collectivism style of government Democrats provide – wherever and whenever they control the levers of power.

This is a grand example of the the meaning of “toxic empathy.”
And when you mix “toxic empathy” with political power you get this: Others have to suffer (as the condo residents did) for somebody else’s compassion.
Unbelievably, and the pols who ignored the damage and inveighed against those who didn’t ignore it get a salary.
They get paid for their panjandrum decisions. And the greatest joke: We the taxpayers are the ones paying them!
Why oh why do the citizens who vote re-elect these “toxic empathy” buffoonish politicians-and for some reason-from California to NY from Maryland to Virginia these pols (who shouldn’t even be making decisions for their children) keep getting re-elected.
I guess the citizens who vote for them are exhibiting their own toxic empathy!

It sounds to me like they’re only getting what they deserve.
This kind of outrageous decision is born out of what is called “suicidal empathy”; an act where virtue-signalling is more important than results. When a decision is made that helps no one and makes matters worse. Where trying to assist one group does enormous harm to a different group. America has lost its moral mind. Leftists are dangerous to society and should be allowed nowhere near public office. This is Exhibit A. I give up.
