The ‘Tolerant’ Left Sure Does Like Assassinations

A manifesto recovered from the alleged shooter of UnitedHeathCare CEO Brian Thompson says that “These parasites had it coming” and “I do apologize for any strife and trauma, but it had to be done.”

This is music to the ears of many on the left, who cheered when they learned that Thompson had been gunned down and are treating the shooter as some sort of folk hero.

“Social media users have sometimes outright gloated at the killing,” is how The Hill put it, describing it as an expression of “populist rage” and then spending the rest of the article trying to obliquely pin the blame on Donald Trump.

The Atlantic dismissed the “mockery and disdain” of the cold-blooded murder as an “expression of widespread fury at a broken system.”

Former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz reposted an article about how Blue Cross Blue Shield will no longer cover anesthesia for the full length of some surgeries, adding, “And people wonder why we want these executives dead.”

“Saturday Night Live” joked that “it really says something about America that a guy was murdered in cold blood and the two main reactions were, ‘Yeah, well health care stinks!’ And also, ‘Girl, that shooter hot.’ “

If this reminds you of anything it should. Because the same cast of miscreants cheered the would-be assassin of Donald Trump as well.

In fact, the only problem they could find was that the shooter’s aim was off.

The left had effectively been calling for Trump’s assassination for years. Every time they described him as a “threat to democracy,” compared him to Hitler, and said that he had to be “stopped at all costs,” it was a call to action that at least two would-be assassins heard.

Is this sort of bloodlust confined to the left? Of course not. But if you follow the pundit class, you’d believe that it’s entirely contained on the conservative side of the spectrum.

The truth is that leftists are far more prone to want to murder their opponents because they’ve been infected by the Marxist-power-struggle virus, which leads them to think that the murder of a political opponent is always justifiable homicide.

In the case of health care, the left will never be satisfied until the government controls the entire system, soup to nuts, with Sen. Bernie Sanders making decisions about which patients live or die. If that means sacrificing a few health insurance CEOs on the road to this socialist Nirvana, so be it.

In the midst of this sickness, there were some voices expressing common sense.

One of them was Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, senior associate dean at the Yale School of Management. He wrote that:

I have studied CEO and business leadership for 40 years, and such dancing on the grave of a murdered business executive is one of the most abhorrent things I have ever seen. This vitriol and violence against business and business leaders is plainly un-American.‌

Indeed it is. And who hates America? Oh, right, those on the left.

  • It has become clear to me that to stop the gun violence it is only necessary to take guns from the Democrats.

  • Nine Democrats in the House of Representatives introduced a bill in April, House Resolution 8081, that was designed to get Trump killed in prison by removing his Secret Service protection. The Democrats are desperate to eliminate Trump, by any means necessary. That bill is STILL pending – the 118th Congress will likely end its term without the sponsors withdrawing this proposed law. If Trump had lost the election, then they wanted him to also lose his life.

    The author, Rep. Bennie Thompson, and these eight co-sponsors, should be added to the list of Democrats who are willing to use murder as a tool of politics.

    Rep. Carter, Troy A.
    Rep. Lee, Barbara
    Rep. Wilson, Frederica S.
    Rep. Clarke, Yvette D.
    Rep. Watson Coleman, Bonnie
    Rep. Crockett, Jasmine
    Rep. Beatty, Joyce
    Rep. Cohen, Steve

  • It depends on who the assassined is. Without their hypocrisy, liberals would have no character traits atall.

  • Leftist NEVER support killing in the name of political ideology, unless it is to advance, socialism, communism, fascism, or some other big-government, totalitarian ideology. Then it okay to do it by the hundreds of millions.

  • Liberals like the Washington Post reporter and all those on TikTok cheering this guy’s murder are truly barbaric savages:

    -they’re upset the Trump shooters missed;
    -they’re happy that western North Carolina was devastated by the hurricane –
    it’s Trump territory;
    -they cheer on (or participate in) the physical attacks on Jews who are guilty
    of being – Jews;
    -they’re delighted at the insurance executive’s murder;
    -and of course they cry tears of joy over ninth-month abortions.

    They are savages.

  • The ire directed at the insurance industry isn’t limited to the left, and it isn’t spurred by resentment of “pillars of the community,” as Sonnenfeld argues.

    While celebrating murder is indefensible, a few million people signaling their disgust with the health insurance industry isn’t some spasm of Marxist anger or a manufactured response.

    It’s based on real frustrations, real tragedies and real lives ruined. We have always celebrated success and innovation in this country, but there is a vast gulf between those things and the kind of rent-seeking, penny-pinching, tax-avoiding greed that guides corporate decision-making in so many industries.

    If you’ve had to watch a relative die while simultaneously fighting with an insurance company, you know the frustration.

    Many of us have had the clinical judgment of our doctors overriden by insurance people. I myself suffered a brutal allergic reaction a few years ago, and the doctors at the hospital wanted to keep me there, but insurance would not allow it.

    I went to the ER three times that week, suffered horrifically, and the third time had to call an ambulance. When I arrived, the ER doctor could not believe I hadn’t been kept in the hospital and said I needed to be under uninterrupted care. A few hours later, he came back and sheepishly told me the insurance company had once again denied an overnight stay.

    And after all that, the insurance company had the gall to tell me they weren’t going to cover the ambulance ride — the one that was necessary because theyh repeatedly overrided the clinical judgment of my doctors.

    That company? United Healthcare.

    So yes, cheering murder is wrong, but no, this is not a political issue or some phantom concern. People are angry for good reasons, and when they hear the CEOs of these companies earn a thousand times what their employees do, it’s adding insult to injury.

  • Just ask any lib…..”If you had to sacrifice 1mm Americans (covid II) to get rid of Trump, would you?”

  • If the left really has outrage over the high cost and poor quality of healthcare in America, they would support the assassination of people like Obama, Pelosi, the Emmanuel brothers, etc. Seems more likely this murderer probably felt justified in killing someone over the loss of his free healthcare when he turned 26. Luigi needs to nurse his hurt in a prison cell for the remainder of his life no matter his reasoning.

  • After the first attempted Assination of Trump some Moron was calling the Assasin a American Hero
