Why Do Media Think Democrats Are Worth Cheating For?

It would be helpful to voters to know that a “whistleblower” says ABC rigged last week’s debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. But outside of conservative media, it’s being largely ignored, because the legacy press covers its own and as zealously as it does the Democratic Party. Whether the claims are true or not – the existence of the whistleblower remains unconfirmed – the mainstream media’s loyalty to Democrats is uncomfortably similar to the relationship Pravda had with the Central Committee of the Soviet Union’s Communist Party.

To quickly recap, the unnamed whistleblower said ABC agreed to fact-check Trump while ensuring “Harris would not face comparable scrutiny.” The plan was so detailed that “various people were assigned to fact check observations it was perceived candidate Trump would make during the debate.”

“In fact,” says the whistleblower, the “Harris campaign required assurances that Donald Trump would be fact-checked.”

These agreements were reached on calls that the Trump campaign was not a part of although all discussions regarding the rules and negotiations were supposed to include both sides.

The affidavit also says Harris was provided with sample questions that, while not the exact questions that would be asked, nevertheless “covered similar topics that would appear during the debate.”

There were also issues that could not be raised – Joe Biden’s health; Harris’ performance as San Francisco’s district attorney; her brother-in-law and “key campaign adviser” Tony West, who allegedly “fleeced taxpayers for billions to give to left-wing groups and lawyers” – since they would reflect poorly on Harris.

“I have observed a pronounced bias against Donald Trump within ABC News,” the affiant continues, while also noting “many” ABC employees “questioned the clear bias that is well known throughout the company.”

The network denies the charges, which is expected. It’s not going to issue a statement that says, “Yeah, you caught us, we cheated for the Democrats.”

What gives the allegations more than a muted ring of truth is that the affidavit was filed, according to its contents, the day before the debate and the charges match the moderators’ actions. It was as if the whistleblower got a copy of the script. So much of what is asserted checks out with what everyone saw.

It also looks bad for the network because Dana Walden, a Disney co-chair who oversees ABC News, has been a close friend of Harris since the 1980s, and their husbands closer for even longer.

Furthermore, Linsey Davis, one of the ABC moderators – and co-conspirator, depending on whose point of view is being taken into account – and Harris are sorority sisters.

Trump would have fared better if the debate had been on another network, but he says the Harris team insisted that she would debate only on ABC. While it’s obvious why, it’s chilling to think that the cabalists aren’t terribly concerned about the striking conflict of interest. To them, it’s just another act of impropriety they will get away with.

But what else should we expect when 28% – that’s a staggering number – of Democrats say the country would have been better off if Trump had been assassinated?

One would think that despite the connections, there would be some fidelity to journalistic standards. But clearly that’s asking too much. At least for the left. Remember that Trump found out in 2015 that “his friendship with the late Fox News chairman Roger Ailes did not spare him a mauling from Megyn Kelly, one of the moderators of the Republican candidates’ debate,” the Telegraph reminds us.

There are no ideologues in the West like those who pose as objective reporters and editors. At times some have internal struggles with the real journalist within. But the propagandist always wins.

We’ve seen this behavior in history’s bloody revolutions. The revolutionaries and their followers believe so deeply in their cause they’ve been willing to kill and destroy. (Of course, those at the top, the Lenins, the Castros, the Guevaras, the Sandinos, and the Ortegas are interested only in power. The revolution is a cover for their tyrannical ambitions.)

Anyone involved in politics in this country who believes in their party, their ideology, their agenda so completely that they feel that their ends justify whatever means they choose needs to back off and reassess. Get away from politics. Find meaning somewhere else, because a blind commitment to the Democrats’ efforts to establish single-party rule, its one and only truth, and its demand for conformity, is toxic to discourse and a threat to our republic.

  • If Trump didn’t keep telling stupid lies over and over, they wouldn’t have been able to prepare fact-checks for him.

      • I can name two off the top of my head: Haitians eating dogs and cats in Springfield. And that in some states babies can be killed up to one month after birth. Ms. Davis was right to call him out on that one. Shall I go on?

  • Very well written. There should be an article written on Senator Mazie Hirono who as an Asian American, threatened to boycott Biden’s nominees to cabinet posts unless Asians were appointed. Then the Senator objected to the US Supreme Court decision that proved, Asian students were being boycotted /discriminated against for admission to some elite colleges. Hirono actually wants Asians to go to the back of the line, so Blacks and Hispanics, with inferior credentials, get the slots to these colleges over the more qualified Asian applicants. So, point is, Democrats are the racist- but they legitimize their racism via unethical positions…of to wit, Dems don’t have ethical standards, they make them up to fit their narratives. Hirono wants Title IX to erase and diminish resources as allocated for female sports, women’s shelters etc., and even promote biological males who want to claim they are females, to infiltrate “all female prisons” and the like. That’s misogynistic to the max, but when levied by a Dem, they rewrite the definitions. But hey, they can’t define what a woman is anyways. Hard to debate Dems who have no moral compass, nor respect rule of law, and give rise to hypocrisy like we have never seen before.

  • Agreed, the media should publicise the claims of the ‘whistleblower’. They should also highlight that the claims were propagated by Marjorie Taylor Greene and that since then she has stated that ‘The story is false and I’m glad to hear it’. (Type ‘Marjorie Conspiracy Corrected’ into your search engine.)

    • Ummm – the bit about the whistleblower being killed in a vehicle accident is false and she’s glad to hear it. The claims of the whistleblower stand. But I guess if fake news is your thing, fake news is your thing.

  • ‘Trump would have fared better if the debate had been on another network, but he says the Harris team insisted that she would debate only on ABC’

That cannot be correct. Trump has told us on multiple occasions that he is the best negotiator in history ever.

  • The Media sides with the Money. The Big Money is overwhelmingly on the side of the Democrats.

And the Media expects to need a big Federal bailout during the next recession. They will need the Democrats to survive.

    • Please bear in mind that consecutive conservative Supreme Courts have insisted that money is speech, and that limiting its use in elections was unconstitutional. The worm turns.

  • This is a prime example of the Democrat plan that they must do “whatever it takes” to keep Trump from being elected. The media is complicit.

  • Interesting piece, but I was duped into reading it by the title’s question, which the piece did not answer. This is the question I ask regularly and the answer to which I draw blanks. Do the media really think they will always remain immune from government overreach?

  • It is truly hard to believe that in 3 decades the education in America has so radically changed the independent thinking process of so many people that common sense is now rare.
Public schools have become brain washing factories where mental acuity has been ramped down so as to keep people just barely smart enough to mark a ballot for the least important reasons.
    All emotions-no logic.
I fear we have already passed the tipping point on the end of freedom as we know it.

  • You are very naive to think that the ABC goons will listen to you. Boycott of Disney is the only thing that will get their attention.

  • “Whether the claims are true or not – the existence of the whistleblower remains unconfirmed…” That is the nub of this whole article. It is born from the idea that the job of news organizations is to print everything the flies over the transom, not waiting to determine whether it is true or not.

  • When a tyrannical government successfully takes control, the first thing to take place is the nationalization of the media. So, who will become our Pravda?
MSNBC, ABC, CNN, NBC CBS FOX.
Jackboot thugs will take over, and the end of free speech and information will be the norm
This is what the boot licking media is going to get in a Harris Admin.

  • The “left” and “right” are not “mirror images.” The “left” behaves (and believes) that social or group action is the means to a “fair” society, and that to accomplish that fair society, and lie or violence is justified.

The “right” distrusts group actions and relies on the individual to be responsible for himself and to follow the rules. As a consequence, it punishes lies and violence as threats to individual liberty. It relies on free markets and free speech to enable everyone to succeed to the degree they are able.

The left’s “paradise” never arrives but for those who are in power over the group; and the group accepts equality of outcome as the benefit…though in poverty.

The right’s “paradise” only survives when the majority of individuals take responsibility for self government and treat their fellow citizens with respect. In the right’s paradise it is the diligent and fortunate who become the most powerful, but not in the capacity to rule their brother citizens.
