Biden’s Indisputably Imperative Move: End the Lawfare. Now.

Donald Trump has been shot and, thank God, not seriously hurt nor killed.

Now is not the time for thoughts and prayers. Now is not the time for talk about “turning down the temperature.”

Now, immediately, without any excuse for delay of any kind, is the time for action.

President Joe Biden must direct the attorney general to withdraw all charges against his predecessor and opponent for the presidency, and his co-defendants, which are the basis for many of the false, baseless, and politically inflammatory attacks on Trump.

He must immediately stop referring to the former president as a “convicted felon,” as that judgment has not yet been entered and may be reversed from the bench based on the Supreme Court’s recent immunity ruling, with hearings pending.

He must personally contact Alvin Bragg and Fani Willis and urge them to withdraw their state-level charges against the president, regarding which there is abundant evidence of White House cooperation, coordination, and collusion.

No words from the White House nor from members of the president’s party regarding a physical attack on the former president of the United States can be in any way credible as long as the full force and resources of the federal justice system remain weaponized in an effort to smear him, enable vituperation against him, and incite public anger, animosity and antagonism against him.

That’s it. There is nothing more to say.

The ball is in Mr. Biden’s court.

  • Don’t hold your breath awaiting such action from Biden and his controllers.

  • Nine Democrats in the House have done something even more extreme than Biden calling Trump a ‘convicted felon’.

House Resolution 8081 would remove all Secret Service protection from anyone convicted of a felony. It was obviously aimed at getting Trump killed. Why else would you remove his bodyguards?

Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the former chairman of the House Jan. 6 select committee, proposed it in April. This bill has eight co-sponsors. If one of these people or Thompson is your Representative, then you might want to think twice about re-electing them:

    Rep. Carter, Troy A. [D-LA-2]*
    Rep. Lee, Barbara [D-CA-12]*
    Rep. Wilson, Frederica S. [D-FL-24]*
    Rep. Clarke, Yvette D. [D-NY-9]*
    Rep. Watson Coleman, Bonnie [D-NJ-12]*
    Rep. Crockett, Jasmine [D-TX-30]*
    Rep. Beatty, Joyce [D-OH-3]*
    Rep. Cohen, Steve [D-TN-9]*

  • If Joe Biteme wants a couple of points for acting with class and style in this moment, fine, he can have ’em.

It’s not going to make up for 50 years of being a crook and a demagogue and a shithead, nor will it close the deficit for four years of controlled demolition, but let it not be said I won’t give some credit where it’s due.
