John Kerry: Goodbye, Good Riddance

In a city overflowing with useless people, agencies and institutions, one of its most worthless figures is (finally) leaving his government post. While John Kerry is not quite going away, he is closer to the exit than the entrance. This is good for the country.

At some point this spring, Kerry will leave his billet as the administration’s climate envoy (see what we mean by “useless”?). He will reportedly join the re-election campaign of President Joe Biden, who was for decades useless but eventually became destructive, as the last three years have shown. If voters act rationally, Kerry, an insufferable hypocrite, will disappear from public life for good by the middle of November.

Ever an imperious scold, a male Karen before that term became widely used, Kerry has spent much of his adult life, more than four decades, implementing the Democratic Party dream, which is to convert our civil society to a political society. It’s a point we’ve made before that can’t be made enough:

The left, which has marched through our institutions, won’t rest until the civil society we have flourished in has been replaced with a political society. It craves a societal breakdown, to bury the political and social norms that stand in its path to unchallengeable power.

Most recently Kerry has served as the administration’s climate czar. It was the perfect post for a gasbag, providing its occupant endless opportunities to lecture climate crisis skeptics, whom Kerry surely regards as “stupid.”

But it is Kerry instead who is dim. When it was reported in 2020 that he “would love to take a new Cabinet position devoted to climate change,” economist David Kreutzer noted that “Kerry has proven he is totally ignorant of the basics of climate science.”

This of course never stopped the pompous, condescending Kerry from ridiculing “those who know more,” a practice, says Kreutzer, in which the former Massachusetts senator was “aided and abetted by the media.”

Though in his own league, Kerry is representative of the Washington blob that does more to hold back this country than to move it ahead (which would require dissolution of the blob). This clot of politicians, staffers, regulators, lobbyists, lawyers, journalists and activists is an offense to the system of limited power that the Founders left for us. Washington is filled with busybodies, aspiring tyrants, meddlers, scoundrels, grifters, mediocrities, the unaccountable and the shiftless who could not thrive in the private sector.

Yes, the departure of John Kerry from the capital would be a blessing. But in a deep, dark sea of wretches, the loss of one, no matter how notable, is merely a good start.

  • I’m not a fan of a ketchup magnate telling me to eat grasshoppers rather than burgers and fries.

Oh, and Kerry is a loathsome antisemite.

    • He’s not a ketchup magnate. He married into it. He’s never produced or created a single damn thing of any value in his entire worthless life.

      • You are correct. But he benefits from it financially. My point is to prove that he is too stupid to know where his wealth comes from. A traitor, an antisemite, and a useless waste of carbon.

      • He is also guilty on multiple counts of “Stolen Valor”. All-time Top Ten list of jerks who need an old fashioned ‘counseling and guidance’ session.

  • John Kerry: A self-impressed, sanctimonious intellectual mediocrity who has never produced anything of value to anyone and understands nothing about human behavior, business, economics, science, history, health care or foreign countries. In other words, he is the very model of a modern professional politician.

  • The statement, “Kerry has proven he is totally ignorant of the basics of climate science.” should actually read, “Kerry has proven he is totally ignorant.”

  • Aw schucks, the way the article began, I thought kerry had passed on to his just deserts in Hell. You know the old maxim, “Never leave behind anything that can come back to stab you in the back.” This cRAT and his need to be watched carefully right to the last gasp.

  • One destructive characteristic of “Karen” Kerry is that he has an ability to always fail upwards. No matter how damaging he is to the nation, he is never punished for his personal ineptitude or his wrong-headed ideas. I would prefer that after he leaves the public teat, he goes wind-surfing and is permanently lost over the North Atlantic.

  • Yet Kerry is somehow even worse that the excellent description in this article would have us believe. He recently proclaimed the governments around the world need to do something about launching a serious depopulation effort. A true, committed leader would lead by example, yet Kerry still walks among us, having failed to show the way.

This passage instantly brought to mind Late Empire Rome. It describes perfectly the overripe capital of a once-great empire that has accomplished everything it can and has nothing more to do except rot to enrich the soil for the next aspiring civilization.

  • I always prefer Mark Steyn’s descriptor of John Kerry, “a vainglorious buffoon.”

  • Kerry has been a shameless self-promoter since he first showed up on the national scene. See that Doonesbury cartoon from 1971 and his entire career makes sense.

  • If John Kerry was paid one penny for his work, he was an useless, overpaid unelected official.

  • Tapeworms!
Remember Biology class definitions of parasitic tapeworms?

An “unsuccessful tapeworm” is one that eats so much of its host’s own food that it kills its host, and hence kills itself.
The “successful tapeworm,” however, is the worm that eats from its host, but never eats so much that it kills its host.

So many of our politicians are successful parasitic tapeworms.
They migrate from one elected position, to an agency, to another appointed position all within the well fed gullet of government, and the successful tapeworms never do anything so harmful that they kill their host preventing them from hopping over to yet another gullet.

They stay inside the protective tract gorging and sapping strength from the host.
    Parasitic Tapeworms!

    Ring a bell?

  • I am waiting for the day when Kerry hops into one of his private plane rides and it is an electric plane.

  • Now he can avoid the intense grilling about his performance and staff information. Slip out the back John!
