Michael Ramirez is a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. His cartoons are syndicated by Creators. Michael won his second Pulitzer while at Investor's Business Daily.
Issues & Insights is run by seasoned journalists who were behind the Pulitzer Prize-winning IBD Editorials page (before it was summarily shut down). Our goal then and now is to bring our decades of combined journalism experience to help readers understand the top issues of the day. I&I is a completely independent operation, beholden to none, but committed to providing cogent, rational, data-driven, fact-based commentary that the nation so desperately needs.

The Pinata above is a funny image, but there is a serious concern, too.
Joe Biden’s open borders policy has set us up for colossal costs, social and cultural liabilities, disruptions and countless ill effects that Biden would never understand, but the most calamitous effect of all could be, I emphasize, “could be,” another 9/11 on a much broader scale everywhere in the USA.
Consider how easy it is under Biden’s, “Come one, come all,” open border policy, (we read illegal immigrants come from 160 nations) for the world’s terrorist leaders to be sending thousands of sleeper terrorists across our southern border, who are then bussed over the country to sanctuary cites, and then are just waiting for the signal to spring into devastating action. Farfetched? Maybe. Let us hope so.
Consider, however, how much easier this scenario is than what the 9/11 terrorists did to plan, to learn to fly at flight school and then to carry out their deadly scheme at the World Trade Towers.
Could these sleeper terrorists be in our sanctuary cities now thanks to the open borders policy, endorsed since his first day in office, by President Biden?
