I believe this is what the Toon means: Republicans in the House who don’t elect a Speaker are nothing but babies. I think this view is ridiculous and shortsighted. I vote Republican, not because of the party’s fat, elephantine baby-sitter, but because they-at least use to-believe and supported fiscal sanity. Matt Gaetz and those who voted against McCarthy apparently do.
I don’t believe shutting down the country and it’s “spending addiction” in the wake of our $31 Trillion debt is anything but patriotic, and it is (or at least “should be”) “Republican” and it is why I have voted Republican.
As a conservative/libertarian this issue is very important to me To believe differently would be doing a dis-service to myself, to my country and to the many generations of American citizens that hopefully will come after me.
