Media Can’t Understand Why Biden Is So Unpopular (After Everything They’ve Done For Him)

Over the weekend, CNN ran a segment titled “Why isn’t Joe Biden more popular?” noting that only one president in modern times had a lower approval rating at this point in his first term. That president was Jimmy Carter.

CNN pointed to an analysis by poll aggregator FiveThirtyEight, which finds that 57.6% disapproved of Jimmy Carter 915 days into his term, while 55% disapprove of Biden. At this point, Trump had a disapproval rating of 52.6%. Biden is also far more unpopular than George H.W. Bush (36% disapproval), who went on to lose his reelection bid to Bill Clinton, and Lyndon Johnson (33% disapproval), who decided not to run for reelection.

To say this is baffling to the mainstream media is putting it mildly. For years, they’ve been scratching their heads to understand why Biden has been underwater with voters.

Here’s a (very small) sampling of stories over the year:

  • “How has Joe Biden become so unpopular so quickly among Americans?” — New York Times, September 2021
  • “Six Theories of Joe Biden’s Crumbling Popularity” — The Atlantic, November 2021
  • “Why Biden is so unpopular now?” — Christian Science Monitor, April 2022
  • “Why Is Joe Biden So Unpopular?” — U.S. News, January 2022
  • “Why is President Biden so unpopular?” — Washington Post, July 2022
  • “Biden Has Had a Remarkable First Term. Why Is He So Unpopular, Even With Democrats?” — Newsweek, May 2023

The articles all flop around trying to figure out the answer. The economy is doing so well. Inflation is “coming down.” Jobs are plentiful. Biden passed a huge infrastructure bill. He’s getting tough on climate change.

Even more puzzling is the fact that as a previous CNN poll found, 66% think a Biden win in November 2024 would be a disaster for the country, compared with 56% who said that of a Trump win.

What’s the problem, they ask? Is it just that the country is in a sour mood? Are people being misinformed? Is it somehow Trump’s fault? Is it because of ageism? Or climate change?

Of course, the real reason that media outlets are confused is because they’ve spent the past three years doing everything possible to make Biden more popular.

The real question they are asking with these endless articles isn’t “Why is Biden so unpopular?” It is “How is it that, with all our power and might, we haven’t been able to make Biden a more popular president?”

It’s worth pointing out in this context that journalists never wondered why Trump was unpopular during his presidency. You will search in vain, as we did, for such an article. (The only thing to come close were stories wondering why Republicans still supported the hugely unpopular Trump.)

So, here are some possibilities for Biden’s massive unpopularity that never occur to the brain-dead partisans in the mainstream press:

  • People are wise to the fact that the press keeps trying to cover up Biden’s painfully obvious and clearly accelerating mental and physical decline, as well as his woefully corrupt past.
  • They recognize the fact that, as we pointed out in this space recently, Biden has failed to live up to any of his promises when running for office. He didn’t stop COVID or unite the country. He hasn’t helped the middle class, nor has he taken control of the border.
  • They see Biden as more interested in radical leftist causes, such as letting “trans” people bare their breasts on the White House lawn, than tackling inflation, crime and other issues that affects us every day.
  • They see Biden for what he is. A contemptible, weak, doddering, mean-spirited leftist hack who never should have ever been allowed into the White House.

So we wonder: “Why is Biden more popular than he deserves to be?” But journalists can’t ask that question because they know what the answer would be.

  • He wasnt “allowed” in the White House. The election was flat out stolen from Trump

  • Except for the corrupt election officials in a handful of places Biden has always been unpopular. He won the fewest counties ever yet garnered more votes than Obama. People see now the laptop is real he hid in his basement because he is a fool. He looks frail and weak and like your crazy uncle in the nursing home. However whomever the dems put up (newsome) there are 100,000,000 votes ready to count.

  • Biden’s is not liked, he’s accepted because he has a D next to his name. There could be an Alzheimer’s ridden lunatic in there and it wouldn’t matter. I guess I made my own point!

  • Mostly because anyone with a pair of brain cells realizes that he’s been in office for nearly 50 years and hasn’t done a single worthy thing.

  • “How is it that, with all our power and might, we haven’t been able to make Biden a more popular president?”
    Could it be because the populace aren’t as stupid as the media seem to think they are?

  • Mainstream media is using a false premise…that Biden was at some point popular. I would refer them to all the previous abysmal runs for the presidency.

  • Newsweak asks “Biden Has Had a Remarkable First Term. Why Is He So Unpopular, Even With Democrats?” The reason is that Below Average Joe’s first term is ‘remarkable’ only in the sense of how remarkably HORRIBLE it has been. Literally everything is worse since this incompetent, corrupt jackass took office. All the lies, mistruths, and obfuscation of the truth cannot hide the fact that nearly every American is feeling the impact of Joe’s idiotic economic policies, and all have a visceral sense that something is dreadfully wrong in our country. To put is simply, Biden stinks on ice has is likely going to be remembered as the singularly worst preside in at least 100 years.

  • “Why isn’t Biden more popular?”

    A few phrases about Biden come to mind:
    Common as a sidewalk;
    Creepy as the proverbial weird uncle;
    Dumb as a post;
    Honest as Adam Schiff;
    Selected an inept Cabinet based on DEI:
    A weakling seeking a backbone;
    Obama nailed him. “Never underestimate Biden’s ability to screw up everything.”

    As President of the US, (still subject to reasonable doubt), what complimentary words can anyone find to describe Biden?

    Can’t think of one!

  • Maybe it’s the skeevy look in your eyes
    Or that your mind has turned to applesauce
    The dreary architecture of your soul”
    I said, “But what is it exactly turns you off?
