The War On Truckers, Refrigerators, And Your Well-Being

In the same way our “superiors” think that their food comes from the grocery store rather than a farm or ranch, they must believe that those items magically appear on the shelves. Otherwise, why would the ruling class, made up of and zealously backed by elites, go to war against trucks?

Just before Christmas, the Biden Environmental Protection Agency finalized a rule that it calls a “key step toward accelerating zero-emissions future,” and part of “the historic Clean Truck Plan, which is moving America’s highly polluting heavy-duty trucking fleet towards low-carbon and electric technologies.”

Enforcement of course will mean fewer trucks on the road. For many drivers, the cost of working under the new regime will be too high.

“Truckers and manufacturers warn that the rule is too stringent and costly, and that compliance could send higher prices through the economy that is already suffering from high energy costs and high inflation,” says the Institute for Energy Research.

The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association warns that “if small business truckers can’t afford the new, compliant trucks,” they will keep their older, less-efficient trucks, or simply “leave the industry entirely.”

Fewer trucks will force shipping prices higher, which will cause retail prices to rise. But the ruling class doesn’t care. Its snobbish members don’t see the poor whose grocery bills will take up an even larger portion of their meager incomes. Nor do they want to think about truckers, whom they look down on as grubby flyover peasants, even though truckers move to market everything from non-GMO greens to high-end yoga pants that the elites don’t want to live without.

Never resting in its quest to make life more difficult for the masses, the ruling class has also targeted home appliances. A month ago, the EPA proposed new a regulation to “advance” the “transition to safer, more efficient heating and cooling technologies.” This will be done by “restricting the use of super-polluting hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in certain products and equipment where more climate friendly alternatives are available.”

HFCs are a class of refrigerants used in air conditioners, refrigerators, heat pumps, and aerosol products, that are neither super-pollutants nor standard pollutants in any traditional or even hyperbolic sense. But because they are greenhouse gases, and the ruling class is convinced Earth is burning due to man’s GHG emissions, the EPA has been given the authority to crack down on any greenhouse gas by calling it a pollutant.

The agency of course swears the transition will save “billions,” but history shows that anytime the government says its new policies will be more economical, just the opposite happens. We can say without reservation that whenever Washington sells its latest regulatory scheme as money saver, it’s lying.

But that’s only a part of the story. In addition to higher costs, consumer goods become less reliable – a charitable description in too many cases – after the government sends out new rules. Regulators, empowered and goaded by the elites, have also ruined dishwashers, automobiles, shower heads, light bulbs, toilets, and the simple gas can.

Of course the elites will have to spend more money on their modern conveniences. That won’t bother them, though. In fact, it will give them an even greater sense of self-satisfaction that they can afford the finer things in life while the filthy, wrong-thinking commoners have to make do with less.

  • (…our “superiors” think that their food comes from the grocery store rather than a farm or ranch…)

As a 6th grade teacher back in the 70’s in an elite area school, I recall a conversation with the class after they discovered that I deer-hunted and then they fell apart. “But, you eat cow at McBurger’s” I reminded them, whereupon they argued it was okay because it was from meat. “Where does meat come from?” I asked. “From the meat store,…” “And where does the store get it?” “From the meat factory”, they insisted, and so I asked where they got it, and their reply was, “they make it”!
These were the very bright children of the elite professional parents in a very well off town. Now we know why the eco-lies work so easily.?

  • Market conditions favor the truck restrictions.
Spot freight rates, at the moment, are low. During COVID they were high.

Now, the Liberal Media will always tell you that “business hates regulation”. That is a lie. Business loves regulation that hurts the competition and delivers guaranteed profits.
At the moment, driving small trucking firms into bankruptcy is the tone of the day. This will shrink freight capacity, resulting in higher Spot freight rates.

  • In your excellent article you said, and I quote: “the ruling class is convinced Earth is burning due to man’s GHG emissions,”. I don’t think the vast majority of the ruling class is that stupid; but, rather that they are evil and this is their way of destroying the middle class so the world will end up with the rulers and the peasants and the peasants will get just enough to survive and serve.

  • The ultimate goal, which they have openly stated, is the reduction of earth’s population to a “manageable” 500 million. In other words, genocide. ALL of these initiatives work toward that end.
