If Trump had been doing his job, we would need trillions in aid. S. Korea, Singapore, Taiwan are 3 countries have have fraction of the infections we have (based on infections per million population) that we have and they did not have to crater their economies. Thank you Trump
With all due respect, what? You missed the point of the cartoon. For folks like you, everything is because…Trump. Trump was on this virus early on while our House was wasting its time trying to impeach the man. When he did the right thing he was called a xenophobe and a racist. The cases you cite are not at all relative to the size and scope of our nation. BTW, the countries you mentioned closed their borders to the flow of foreigners in January and didn’t have to put up with the PC Police calling them nasty names.
The first case in the US came from a US citizen returning from China. Other early cases included US citizens returning from Egypt and Italy, as well as China. And, the countries I cited did halt flights from Wuhan. But most importantly, they required all people entering, regardless of citizenship, to be quarantined. Trump did not halt citizens and permanent residents from returning from infected countries. He didn’t do anything with them until a couple weeks ago when he ordered screening on arrival. (which was a joke. The first day we detained hundreds if not thousands in close quarters for hours. What a recipe for spreading the virus. Why to know why it spread so fast in New York. Just think about all those people locked up together at JFK.) He has never ordered mandatory quarantine of arrivals from other countries.
Michael, you are off by a bunch in your $23 Trillion. There is $2.2 by Congress and about another $5 trillion by the Fed. I get close to $30 Trillion which would make the debt under Trump go over 00bama’s $9.8 Trillion.
