Note to Readers: Issues & Insights is a new site launched by the seasoned journalists behind the legendary IBD Editorials page. Our mission is to use our decades of experience to provide timely, fact-based reporting and deeply informed analysis on the news of the day.

We’re doing this on a voluntary basis because we think our approach to commentary is sorely lacking both in todayโ€™s mainstream media and on the internet. If you like what you see, feel free to click the Tip Jar over on the right sidebar. And be sure to tell your friends!

  • What drawing will you draw when China rolls out itโ€™s tanks like at the Square where the poor single man stood in front of a Chinese tank. He has never been heard from since. China is playing it cool in front of the World press for now. But China can not afford to loses Hong Kong. The big Gunโ€™s will Come Out.

  • It isn’t the second amendment we need to get rid of, it is Democrats and Republicans we need to get rid of. We have a do nothing government.

  • We need the second amendment just as we need all of the bill of rights it is fundamentally correct as is all of our freedoms this great nation was built upon . Read the second and you will find the reasons why , stated clearly by our founding fathers

  • If you are alive it is self evident you have a inalienable right to life, If you have an inalienable right to life it is self evident you have a inalienable right to protect your life. Therefore it states that right should not be infringed.

  • This assumes a close equivalence between China and or Hong Kong and the United States. since China does not have a Bill of Rights similar to the United States, it makes no sense to compare an authoritarian regime to one that’s democratically elected.

While obviously America could turn to an authoritarian regime, and some say we’re inching closer every day, we are not close to what China or North Korea or Russia are today.

I could name just as many free nations in the western world without an express right to firearms that manage to resist and change their government. Indeed, it was done in the 1960s. India did it as well. As did South Africa.

    All perfect examples of
Non firearm related resistances that were successful.

  • gun dont kill people people kills..what we need Is teach are kids better .i mean like the old days

  • We have disrespect for life in general, in the case of shootings.

Guns are just tools, just as knives, vehicles, and blunt objects. Evil people will do evil, regardless of the tool selected.

Ill keep my guns to protect my loved ones from those whom intend to do evil.
