The West gave the world the Renaissance and the Enlightenment, two of the most important moments in human history. The political left apparently sees them as anathemas, though, and is determined to surrender our hard-earned culture to barbarians.

Immigration has always been a part of our American story. But successful immigration depends on assimilation, on the migrants’ ability and willingness to become Americans, which, we have no trouble in asserting, has been heart, mind, and backbone of Western Civilization for at least a century. The U.S. didn’t create Western Civilization, but it has nurtured it and not just kept it alive but enriched it.

It’s been a great run, but American Democrats and their leftist counterparts in Europe are intent on wrecking it. Why else would they promote and defend an immigration scheme that is corrupting our culture?

We’re not living through a clash of civilizations as much as we are suffering from a conflict between the civilized and the uncivilized, and it’s more than simply poor manners on the part of the latter.

With the exception of a few on the right, European leaders have done their best to cover up the rape gangs, in which migrants routinely abuse young girls, some of them adolescents. Would American Democrats respond differently if it were happening here? The obvious answer is no. (And maybe it is already happening in our country, we just don’t know about it yet. We didn’t know about the daycare fraud in Minnesota and other states until a young independent journalist exposed it.)

The Europeans, as well as their American apologists, have also gone to great lengths to deny the existence of no-go zones, where “Muslims flood in, legally or illegally” and establish separate “communities where civil authorities dare not go.” The compromised and cowardly leaders on the continent are ignoring an “internal enemy that is destroying their countries,” says McGill University anthropology professor Philip Carl Salzman.

At the same time, migrants are capturing the West in chunks. French President Emmanuel Macron was handed last year a report that told him “Islamists are infiltrating France’s republican institutions and are a threat to national cohesion,” the BBC (shockingly) reported.

“The report, drawn up by two senior civil servants, claims to find evidence for a policy of ‘entryism’ by the Muslim Brotherhood into public bodies like schools and local government.”

“Entryism means getting involved in republican infrastructure … in order to change it from the inside,” explains one high-ranking French official.

The report references “hardened activists,” who “enter into a relationship with the local authority … Social norms – the veil, beards, dress, fasting – are gradually imposed as the ecosystem solidifies.”

The likelihood of Macron doing anything substantial to preserve French culture and the West in general is not zero, but it is close.

Across the Channel, Brits are complaining that Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is about as useful to his country as Neville Chamberlain was just before World War II, is doing nothing about “cousin marriage [that] is now concentrated in specific communities,” sustaining “inbred criminal clans.”

“By marrying within their extended families, communities sustain biradari clan networks that concentrate loyalty, property, power, and secrecy within the group,” writes a contributor in the Conservative Woman blog. “These structures isolate communities from wider British society, weaken women’s autonomy, suppress dissent, and incentivize silence in the face of wrongdoing.”

It’s worth noting that Starmer “appointed a person with extreme pro-Palestinian views as home secretary,” though, to his credit, he seems to have moved in the direction of becoming an immigration hawk, tightening immigration rules and making the road to citizenship a more difficult one.

Will it be enough to turn back the incursion? It certainly is to be hoped for. The White House National Security Strategy report published late in 2025 warned of the “stark prospect of civilizational erasure” in Europe and cautioned that if “present trends continue, the continent will be unrecognizable in 20 years or less.”

Those trends were identified as “migration policies that are transforming the continent and creating strife, censorship of free speech and suppression of political opposition, cratering
birthrates, and loss of national identities and self-confidence.”

On our own shores, we see Islamist migrants refusing to assimilate. Two decades ago, author and United Nations liaison Geneive Abdo traveled the U.S. and found an “accelerating alienation from the mainstream of U.S. life” among “Muslims in this country” who were “choosing their Islamic identity over their American one.”

By 2025, it’s obvious “the danger of Sharia law is growing” in the U.S. This is happening largely “in enclaves of Muslim communities and surrounding areas, many of which are composed of significant numbers of imported foreign nationals from predominantly Islamic nations such as Somalia, Iraq, and Syria,” says the Center for Renewing America.

Of course, “not all Muslims are Islamists,” the center acknowledges, yet …

The fact remains that the growth of the foreign-born Muslim population is significantly expanding the reach of Islamists and their allies. The election of Islamists to both state and federal political office, especially the House of Representatives, is concerning not just because of the actions of these particular politicians but also because of what it reveals about America’s progressive-induced identity crisis, destructive immigration policies, and refusal to demand assimilation to our culture and way of life. 

The Islamists don’t see their access into the U.S. and Europe as migration. For them, it’s an invasion that precedes occupation. Writing last month in the Daily Caller, Republican Rep. Mark Alford of Missouri said that “migration as conquest” is “radical Islam’s enduring blueprint.”

“Historically,” he continued, “Islamic conquest typically arrives in four main phases: migration and infiltration, cultural subversion, jihad, and Sharia imposition.”

This was made clear almost an entire generation ago when a Muslim Brotherhood leader penned a screed telling his radical brothers that they “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house.”

Will U.S. Democrats stand up to what is an obvious militant incursion? Of course not. Their bumper sticker minds can’t think beyond “diversity is our strength.” The asinine mayor of Boston has declared that “You cannot talk about any achievement that the city of Boston … without talking about the Somali community that has lifted our city up.” Meanwhile, Minneapolis Boy Mayor Jacob Frey has waved the flag of Somalia (in a performance so humiliating that it would make Canada’s former Boy Prime Minister Justin Trudeau cringe) and has pandered to the city’s Somali community (more cringe) that has no intention of becoming American. Other Democrats have done the same, their behavior somewhere between that of hostages who have become empathetic with their captors and useful idiots. (Then there are those like Tucker Carlson on the fringe right who increasingly sound like paid publicists for radical Islam.)

Let’s be blunt. These people are leading the West to suicide. They are aligned with fanatics who want to destroy civilization. We can reach no other conclusion than that is their goal and they’ve found willing allies in their quest.
