Congratulations Musk-Haters: You Are Killing The EV Market

NOTE TO READERS: We apologize for the barrage of ads that had been sliding in from the left side of the page. We never authorized this, finally figured out who was to blame, and stopped them.

You’ve heard it countless times. Climate change is the biggest threat to humanity since the dawn of man. Nothing else compares. Well, nothing except hatred of Elon Musk.

The same people who want to ban gas-powered cars to “save the planet” decided, bizarrely, to attack Musk (for the unpardonable sin of trying to root out waste and fraud in the federal government) by targeting Tesla drivers.

Well, it worked. Tesla sales are down. Tesla earnings are down.

But those who are in the market for an EV didn’t rush to buy plug-ins made by other companies. The entire market is down.

Business Insider reports that Tesla sales in California – a state that wants to ban the sale of gas-powered cars in less than a decade – dropped more than 20% in the second quarter compared with the previous year, despite the fact that overall new car sales in the state are up. It goes on to say:

“The California Dealers Association warned that Tesla’s woes were dragging the rest of the state’s EV market down. Zero-emission vehicles accounted for 18.2% of new cars sold in California in the second quarter of 2025, compared with 22% in 2024, the association’s data showed.”

This isn’t confined to California.

Carmakers sold 20,000 fewer EVs in the second quarter of this year than they did the year before, and fewer than were sold in the third quarter of 2023, according to data compiled by CarEdge. It says that EV market share is down year-over-year.

Cox Automotive reports that year-over-year EV sales were down 3.5% in June.

EnerWrap says that sales of battery-only cars (as opposed to plug-in hybrids that still use gasoline but are counted as EVs) “showed the slowest growth in 4.5 years.”

The Energy Information Administration reports a sharp drop in the EV market, and that “the decrease in electric vehicle sales was driven by declining sales of battery electric models such as the Honda Prologue, Chevrolet Equinox, and Tesla Model Y.”

So take a long look in the mirror, you Musk-hating, climate alarmists. By attacking Tesla, you are just ruining your already useless reputations.

  • To be clear, the issue is not about “electric cars!”
It’s about the real source of the energy.
Do you drive gas car? Or a coal car?! Or maybe an oil car?
It ONLY saves carbon if it’s a nuclear-energy sourced car. Period.

  • It’s a shame that Mr. Musk’s company has to suffer for the derangement of its potential clientele.
Those idiotic progressive’s are nearly as annoying as the ads that pop up-no fault of I&I (I guess that’s called “the chain of progress)-on the left side.
It’s appropriate that it’s on “The Left”!

  • Climate change is a hoax. Watch Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth”. 90% of the “facts” regarding future climate change have not occurred. After spending (wasting) trillions of dollars worldwide on debunking fossil fuels we now are being told that an increase in carbon dioxide would significantly increase farmer’s output. Legacy media has brainwashed the public once again. Costly to the taxpayers.

  • Au Contraire mon amis. The entire EV market is down but not because of MDS (Musk Derangement Syndrome). The EV market was a government forced Potemkin Market forced upon folks. When all the truth about cost-to-produce and maintain an EV after actual use, people started seeing through the hype. Don’t forget the the ancillary negative aspects for people and ecology have been coming to light greatly tarnishing the luster of the new trend.

  • Liberal Democrat Idiots think Big Government can solve everything when in truth Big Government causes everything to get worst
