When the president addresses Congress, we expect some partisanship. When Democrats talk about how they want to force people to do their bidding, Republicans don’t applaud. When Republicans talk about cutting people’s taxes, Democrats sit on their hands.
But there have always been times in the past when the entire chamber applauds, sometimes members of the opposing party even stand. That’s because the person addressing them is president of the United States, not leader of a faction.
Until now.
We have never seen a spectacle like we saw last night. Democratic women wearing pink (pink?) as a sign of protest. Various members holding up little placards as though they were at an auction bidding on who would come away the biggest loser. Others carried canes to, what, signify that the party is old and decrepit? The Democrats’ showrunner for the night deserves to be DOGED by his or her own party.
But truly the weirdest and most cult-like spectacle of the night was that not one Democrat – not one – had the cajones to acknowledge anything Donald Trump said. They sat there as though part of the Borg Collective from Star Trek, the cybernetic beings that assimilate entire races into a single collective consciousness with the catch phrase “Resistance is futile.”
As our ace contributor Bob Maistros points out, Trump knew this was going to happen and cleverly included in his speech a prediction that they’d refuse to applaud for anything. And for the next hour-plus, Democrats proved him right.
They didn’t clap for anything. Well, that’s not entirely true. Democrats did applaud when Trump said that we’d dumped $350 billion into the Ukraine war an ocean away while Europe offered relative peanuts to the conflict on their doorstep.
Earlier in the day, dozens of Democratic lawmakers took to social media to read from the exact same script, using all the exact same video clips, to attack Trump. All they needed was some Borg makeup to complete the scene.
What is this idea here? To show a unified party? Or to underscore to a public that already holds Democrats in low esteem that they literally have no ideas of their own, other than act like out-of-touch, angry, humorless, centrally programmed robots? Don’t Democrats know that the Borg were defeated? That resistance to their “equity” plan is not futile?
If the grim spectacle that we saw last night is evidence of what Democrats learned from their drubbing last November, then Trump is right, the Golden Age is here – for conservatives.

Why does it surprise I&I that the Democrats wouldn’t even acknowledge any truth that Trump pointed out last night.
It was the Democrats who assured all of us, “Biden is sharp as a tack” and “He’s the best he ever was” which (in a back handed way, considering the way many if not all of his policies foundered and then impacted negatively the US) may have been true.
Also, these were many of same anti-democratic Democrats who fostered and pushed the “Russia, Russia, Russia” collusion hoax-even after it was shown to be a Hillary/Democratic Party scam!
Additionally, isn’t this the Democratic Party that also bolstered and complimented DOJ for taking a partisan ax to its main political challenger. What is amazing-while hefting those axes, they all thought they were doing God’s work.
Moreover, they all did this with the righteousness a third world politico would have had going after his political opponent.
Today’s individual Democrats-besides being unmannerly pgymy-tyrants wouldn’t admit “honesty” that is being pointed out if that honesty was pointed out by Mother Teresa.
The only thing the Democrat Party has for it is that they vote in Congress in lockstep no matter how manifestly foolish the current policy they are voting on is (for example that biological males should be allowed to participate and vie for the gold medals and ratings in female’s sports).
This sounds more like a SNL script than what it actually is: The official Democratic policy.
I appreciate Republican Congressional independence; but, to paraphrase Lincoln’s famous phrase, “If you don’t hang together you will hang separately.”
Congressional Republicans should get their act together and vote for President Trump’s continuation of the tax cut policy we had in his 1st term. If they don’t all the foolish and previous “lawfare”Democrats will be the winners and American TaxPayers will be the losers.
STOP VOTING CRAPOCRAT. PERIOD.
Wonder who the puppet master of the Senate is that provided the script. I expect customer service techs and salespeople to work off a script, not my Senator!
Also, note that Democrats treated publicizing Trump’s tax returns as though they had captured the holy grail but now it is a really bad thing to look at someone else’s taxes?
The only constant I see among the Democrats is a mindless obsession that if it is Trump it is bad and must be obstructed. These are not the kind of people we should ever call leaders.
“they vote in Congress in lockstep no matter how manifestly foolish the current policy they are voting on is”. Ala soviet, they are communists after all.
The elites behind the move to one world statism(communism) have felt they are so close to their ultimate goal that they are not going to give up. Feeling they have to rule over everybody with total power is a mental disease and they have it in spades!!!
Three scoundrels still embody the Democratic Party.
Pelosi holds the record for having initiated more seditious, unconstitutional , unAmerican actions as Speaker than anyone with her personal vendettas, while vibrating with hatred. Why is she not in jail?
Schumer, always glaring at us over his spectacles, is the weasel of all unctuous political weasels. Forever a dislikable man. Who would ever vote for him?
Adam Schiff! Did someone say, “dislikable oily weasel? “That man has perfected the art of aggressive no-fault lying. Why is he not in jail, too?
These three are waltzing their party over the cliff, and Democrats have no clue, as we just witnessed in Congress.
