Are We Just One Big Storm Away Climate Lockdowns?

While we never thought that the coronavirus pandemic was engineered to soften us up for harsher climate lockdowns to come later, we did note that our ruling class was watching our reactions to its repressive rules to see how far it could go the next time. Today we’re alarmed that “the next time” might be here soon.

In November 2020, we said we were afraid that the country was being conditioned to just take whatever is dished out by power-hungry officials, elected and unelected, and were troubled that Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, could say “now is the time to do what you’re told” with minimal condemnation and no demands that he be fired.

Nearly two years later, it’s clear that our concerns were justified.

We find the evidence in a Sept. 14 World Economic Forum document topped by the title “‘My Carbon’: An approach for inclusive and sustainable cities.”

The report says there have been “significant developments” over the last five to seven years “on social, environment and technology fronts that could help realize” the goals “for shaping the future towards smart and sustainable cities.”

Example No. 1 was the public response to the pandemic lockdowns.

COVID-19 was the test of social responsibility – A huge number of unimaginable restrictions for public health were adopted by billions of citizens across the world. There were numerous examples globally of maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, mass vaccinations and acceptance of contact-tracing applications for public health, which demonstrated the core of individual social responsibility.

Are we misreading the intentions of the World Economic Forum? Unlikely. Read the entire document. It’s impossible to not come away with the stomach-churning feeling that the WEF saw in the pandemic lockdowns a model for climate lockdowns.

Never give it the benefit of the doubt. This is an organization that trains politicians and activists to follow the progressive playbook to remake our world not through cooperation between liberated people but coercion directed by those who wield the power of government.

It has told us we will own nothing and like it, that it’s determined to establish a “fascist economic model” and recalibrate “a whole range of human rights that are playing out online,” including “freedom of speech,” and is working toward eventually tracking our carbon footprints. It aims to push through the self-empowering “Great Reset,” which reminds us far too much of Mao’s “Great Leap Forward” and not just in name only.

The WEF and its soldiers have made a fetish out of “democracy,” but as soon as they can manufacture an “emergency,” such as the ginned-up fears of man-caused global warming, even that goes out the window. The elites who make up the organization’s leadership and its trainees who’ve been spread across the world in positions of influence and power flat-out want us to be their slaves, doing what they tell us when they tell us. End of rights, the end of individuality, one big socialist, global government. The WEF believes not in economic freedom but an economy centrally planned for the entire globe. Another phrase for that is “economic tyranny.”

We hope to find one day that our unease was an overreaction, that there is no agenda, unspoken or otherwise, to shut down personal and economic freedoms to pursue the ghost of global warming. But we’ve seen too many powerful politicians and previously eminent institutions claim that climate change is man’s biggest threat. So it’s a really slim hope.

  • My local electric company sends me unwanted letters every month telling me how much higher my electric usage is than my neighbors and offering to install a “smart thermostat” for free that will allow them to control the temperature in my home. Why should they care? I pay my bill on time every month. …unless the real agenda is to limit everyone’s electric use in the name of “saving the planet”.
    Rationed electricity is coming.

    • Rationed electricity is already here for some customers of Xcel Energy. Xcel has some kind of bonus program that you can sign up for (voluntary). They install a smart thermostat like you describe. During the recent heat wave participants in that program found their thermostats locked at a high temperature to prevent using their central AC.

It will be interesting to see what will happen during cold spells this winter.

  • When the progressives make an accusation, we all know now that this reveals exactly what the progressives have been themselves doing. They accuse common-sense conservatives of “attacking our democracy” in their effete progressive plea for public sympathy to their fascist causes. The Democrats are actually trying to take down the Republic! The Democrats want to replace it with their dystopian vision of a world of serfs and economic royals. Never vote for a Democrat under any circumstances. Here’s an idea: Make the Federal government cough up 500 million acres of OUR land; let people homestead it under reasonable restrictions forcing them to keep the land. This new homestead act will result in the biggest economic tsunami in the history of the universe. No Democrats; Take back the land.

  • A relatively small gang of fat, miserable Nazis who live in huge mansions, fly all over the planet in private jets, ride everywhere in stretch limos, and sail around in yachts are going to demand that we remain indoors and not travel until further notice. No wonder they’re bent on disarming people.

  • The new Nazis which includes the Democrat party in the USA want to make us all nothing less than slaves.

  • History is repleat with examples of the ruling class dominating, ok, enslaving the masses. There are difference from millennia past and today, for sure. At some point, the masses yearning to breath, will abandon the controls that have been placed on them.

If they put in a “centrally controlled” thermostat in your house, you can stop using electricity. You would have to upscale your emergency system. It is doable. Throwing off the yoke of servitude is not without risk nor effort.
