‘Republicans For Biden’ Owe The Nation — Heck, The World — An Apology

In the run-up to the 2020 election, the Biden campaign was gleeful about the flood of prominent Republicans who’d crossed the aisle to support Joe’s candidacy. These Never-Trumpers weren’t just expressing their disdain for President Donald Trump, they were heartily, lovingly, making the case for Joe Biden.

Back then, they were lauded as heroes by the establishment. Today, everyone knows the truth.

These Biden-supporting Republicans were utterly, embarrassingly, dangerously wrong about the man they were touting for president. And we are all now paying an enormous and rapidly increasing price for their arrogant stupidity.

Nothing better encapsulates the “Republicans for Biden” mindset than the statement issued by nearly 500 former national security officials in the fall of 2020 backing Biden.

Forget about the fact that they trafficked in anti-Trump lies such as the “Russian bounty” story and sided against Trump on China, climate change, and other issues of importance to conservatives.

What stands out today is when they claimed that Biden “is the leader our nation needs.”

“It is unthinkable,” these “experts” said in their statement, “that [Biden] would ever utter the phrase ‘I don’t take responsibility at all.’”

Would anyone make such a claim today?

Do a Google search of “Biden blames” and you’ll be flooded with examples of his refusing to take responsibility for anything. Not for the 40-year high inflation gripping the nation and stealing Americans’ savings. Nor for shortages that plague the country. Not for the 600,000-some Americans that the Centers for Disease Control says have died since he took office. Not for the disaster in Afghanistan. Not even for his dismal poll numbers.

Here’s a small sampling of the articles that turn up:

  • Biden blames Republicans for classroom ‘culture wars’
  • Biden Blames His Low Polling on ‘Psychological Scars’ Americans Have
  • Biden Blames ‘Technical Factors’ For Economic Contraction
  • Biden blames delta variant, unvaccinated people for weaker-than-expected jobs report
  • Biden Blames Four Large Meat Processors for Rising Prices
  • Biden blames others for swift collapse in Afghanistan, defends his decision to withdraw troops
  • Biden blames Putin, ‘ultra-MAGA’ for inflation, vows to give voters ‘simple’ explanations

At one press conference, a reporter asked “Do you take any responsibility for the inflation in this country? Do you take any responsibility, your policies?

Biden’s response: “I think our policies helped, not hurt.”

At another event, which took place when the COVID death toll had reached 800,000 (it now tops 1 million), a reporter asked Biden “do you have a statement on your responsibility? And why haven’t you asked China to do more, to be transparent on the origins?”

Biden’s answer was … to smile and walk away.

So, let’s take a moment and look at what other Republicans-for-Biden were telling the public about the Democrat before the election, and see how well their judgment holds up. (And, keep in mind, these are people who held themselves up as moral superiors to those awful Tump supporters.)

John Kasich: “I’m sure there are Republicans and independents who couldn’t imagine crossing over to support a Democrat. They fear Joe may turn sharp left and leave them behind. I don’t believe that because I know the measure of the man.”

Christie Todd Whitman: “We need to elect a leader matched to the moment, someone who can restore competence to the Oval Office and unify the country. Joe Biden is that leader.”

Bill Cohen: “We are in serious need of a leader with optimism and competence who gives us hope. Joe Biden is that leader.”

Rick Snyder: “Biden is the clear choice to put our country back on a positive path.”

Cindy McCain: “There’s only one candidate in this race who stands up for our values as a nation, and that is @JoeBiden.”

Meg Whitman: “Joe Biden … has a plan that will strengthen our economy for working people and small-business owners. For me, the choice is simple. I’m with Joe.”

43 Alumni for Biden: “We need someone who will quickly course correct and show us the path forward.”

Colin Powell: “What a difference it will make to have a president who unites us, who restores our strength and our soul.”

Jeff Flake: “We need to elect someone … who will stop the chaos and reverse the damage.”

Twenty U.S. attorneys: “We firmly believe that Vice President Joe Biden is the candidate who can – and will – provide the leadership we need to … to address the deep-seated societal issues that are roiling our country today. We give him our strongest endorsement.”

Notice how no “Republicans for Biden” are currently bragging about how they helped get Biden elected.

Did the endorsement of prominent Republicans make a difference in the 2020 elections? We’d argue that it did. At the very least, they made plenty of people who’d otherwise have voted Republican comfortable voting for Biden by making him seem like safe choice.

In a close election, small changes matter. And, no matter what you think of the integrity of the 2020 vote counts, it was a close election.

Defenders of these Republicans might say, well, who could have known that Biden would turn out to be such a disaster? Well, we did. So did many other conservatives would were willing to stand up to the mob.

There was an alternative path Republicans-for-Biden could have taken that might have altered the election’s outcome.

They could have said that they find Trump a nasty, brutish, uncouth, loudmouth whom they’d never invite over for tea, but that he managed to do more to advance conservative policies than any president, including the beloved Ronald Reagan. They could have made the case that policies, not mean tweets, matter. They could have pointed out that most of the attacks on Trump were bogus.

They could have said that they would hold Trump accountable for any transgressions, but that Biden was an inept, bedraggled, half-wit, who was in serious mental decline, would be a disaster for the country, and who had no business applying to be a Delaware school bus driver, let alone leader of the free world.

They could have. But chose not to.

We’re not supporters of the left’s cancel culture tactics, but in this case, we’d encourage everyone to ignore anything those “Republicans for Biden” have to say about anything … until they own up to their epic mistake, and apologize for backing Joe Biden.

  • Curiously, the article left out Bush II. It will be a freezing cold day in Hell before Bush II or anybody else apologizes for supporting what an increasing large percentage of the public (including many Democrats) call “the stolen election of 2020.” I’m not sure any of the RINOs have any regrets, or feel they have anything to apologize for. Like Biden they think things are better, because they have the war they wanted. They are happy to have the USA go more communist, because Joe delivered them what they wanted and coveted for years: the USA versus Russia war. Trump, like Nixon and Reagan, was a peace candidate (e.g. stopping the missile attack on Iran; engaging in dialog with North Korea; i.e. making the Axis of Evil less belligerent). With Trump out of the way, the war party adherents of the GOP and liberal interventionists now have their war against Russia. The USA has donated $53 billion in the first quarter of the year to finance the war, which on an annualized basis will be $200 billion or more per year. Another multi-trillion dollar adventure like Afghanistan and Iraq, for which we will have little positive to show. We now have a permanent war against Russia, as Russia will never give up their Black Sea port of Crimea (a key demand), and at some point they will have to obliterate the rest of Ukraine to stop the fighting. In the end, the dollar will be dethroned as a world currency and the USA standard of living will crash even more, except for government/Deep State employees who will enjoy big wage and pension hikes.

    • Bush II is a continuing disaster even while being nearly invisible. However, one has to look back on the other two choices. Gore and Kerry? Heaven forbid.

  • Don’t forget the Bush family and JEB that proudly chose Biden over Trump. Romney probably did too. They owe us an apology. Even Elon voted for Biden.

    • and Obama, Hillary and maybe even Bill, I do not trust the man overall

  • “their arrogant stupidity” This analysis is wrong. The people listed are not stupid, instead they are purposeful at a level which traditional Rule of Law supporting Americans have not grasped. Their goals are to supersede the Rule of Law and impose a new regime over this nation. That may read like an over-the-top assessment but it is otherwise impossible to add up the varied actions of, and the lack of consequences for, Hillary Clinton’s actions against Trump both before and after he took office. Her actions were taken with the support of Federal agencies. Brennan confirmed CIA participation, Comey confirmed FBI participation, Clapper confirmed NSA participation. Comey and Rosenstein confirmed DOJ participation. Those agencies were participants in the 3 year effort to destroy the Trump administration. ‘That was then’ were as now the same agencies are controlled by the Biden administration. We see the DOJ working with other Federal agencies (Education) and the Teacher’s Union to instigate and justify intimidation of parents who speak out at School Board meetings. Before the Federal complicity was revealed we were told that the complaint was from the Teacher’s Union to the DOJ. Now we find that the Biden administration wrote the draft complaint and had the Teacher’s Union file it as if it was their own.

The clearly Open Border mindset is why millions of illegal aliens are crossing, unimpeded, into the country. It is that mindset which has bus and plane loads of illegals shipped from the border, in the night, into Conservative segments of America. There are Federal immigration laws being broken by a President who swore an oath to uphold them. Article II, Section 3 says that it’s the president’s duty “to take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” The Rule of Law died during the 2020 election. Its funeral has not yet been scheduled.

Twitter was/is complicit is censoring anything which could impact the goals of Democratic Party’s hierarchy. But that was not enough for the Biden administration. CNN May 2, 2022 “The Department of Homeland Security and the White House are defending a new initiative to target ‘disinformation’. The DHS Disinformation Governance Board came into being after DHS’ Mayorkas stated on Feb 7, 2022 “After consulting with the Intelligence Community and our law enforcement partners, I have issued a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin regarding the  continued  heightened  threat environment across the United States. ” He defines that threat as “forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM)”. That ‘heightened threat’ includes those who question the legitimacy of the 2020 election. Feb 9, 2022 “DHS issues terrorism advisory against ‘offenders’ who spread ‘misinformation’ about election fraud”. Question the legitimacy of the 2020 election and the Federal government calls you a ‘terrorist’.

COVID was and is being used to manipulate Americans. One example is April 2, 2020 “California Governor Newsom: “Yes, We Will Use Coronavirus to ‘Reimagine a Progressive Era’ There is opportunity for reimagining a progressive era as it pertains to capitalism … absolutely we see this as an opportunity to reshape the way we do business and how we govern.” COVID became America’s first political disease. COVID was used as the impetus for changing election laws. May 8, 2020 “California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order permitting all registered voters in the Golden State to vote by mail in the upcoming presidential election, citing concerns stemming from the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.” After the election News Week reported: “California Judge Rules Gov. Newsom Overstepped on Mail-in Ballot Mandate and went beyond his authority when he issued an executive order for everyone in his state to get mail-in ballots for the U.S. election.” California was far from the only state which saw election laws changed unlawfully.

The Left has pushed for alternative energy for decades. Regardless of its merits it is not yet able to supplant fossil fuels. However the Left has lost its patience: NY Post 5/23/2022 “President Biden celebrated record-high gas prices Monday, gushing that the pump pain was part of “an incredible transition” of the US economy away from fossil fuels.” The Left, having failed to win the argument over energy, has decided to bring about their desired change by fiat. The canceling of oil leases and the selling of oil from the National Petroleum Reserves to Europe is an effort to impose the “pump pain” which “President Biden celebrated”.

Lastly “until they own up to their epic mistake, and apologize for backing Joe Biden …” What would that achieve? ‘My bad, I’m sorry’ means nothing and does less than nothing to change or even mitigate what has and is being done. That assertion underscores what I stated at the start of this “they are purposeful at a level which traditional Rule of Law supporting Americans have not grasped”. We are seeing what Vladimir Lenin observed; “The organized minority will defeat the disorganized majority every time.”

  • Note the ad for saving the black rhinos right in the middle. ROTFLMAO!!!

  • And now, with Biden and his handlers smacking their lips over the possibility of using yesterday’s mass school shooting in Texas as an rationale to nullify the Second Amendment, those “Republicans for Biden” ought to appear on national television in sackcloth and ashes, delivering the largest, loudest “mea maxima culpa” ever heard from any politician!
