Even The Big Media Can No Longer Ignore Biden Family’s Corruption

At long last, the mainstream media are paying some attention to the obvious corruption of President Joe Biden’s family and its many business partners, which include the Chinese government and Russian oligarchs. These things have been known for years. Why are the Big Media only now looking into them?

And why, not really knowing anything at all about what was going on, do Twitter and Facebook still censor those who report on the Bidens’ questionable overseas business activities?

Finally, both the New York Times and Washington Post have been forced to admit that Hunter Biden’s lost laptop is real, not a “fake” or a Russian fabrication, and that it contains a trove of damning evidence (22,000 emails “authenticated”) of Biden family corruption.

The family’s dealings with the communist Chinese government and powerful officials in both Russia and Ukraine are so numerous and so byzantine it’s not possible to describe them all in this limited space.

And they’re not new. Credible reports of corruption have circulated for years in American digital samizdat circles and on alternative media and conservative web sites.

But the Washington Post has added one new, politically explosive, chapter to this whole bizarre tale.

While many aspects of Hunter Biden’s financial arrangement with CEFC China Energy have been previously reported and were included in a Republican-led Senate report from 2020, a Washington Post review confirmed many of the key details and found additional documents showing Biden family interactions with Chinese executives.

Over the course of 14 months, the Chinese energy conglomerate and its executives paid $4.8 million to entities controlled by Hunter Biden and his uncle, according to government records, court documents and newly disclosed bank statements, as well as emails contained on a copy of a laptop hard drive that purportedly once belonged to Hunter Biden …

The new documents — which include a signed copy of a $1 million legal retainer, emails related to the wire transfers, and $3.8 million in consulting fees that are confirmed in new bank records and agreements signed by Hunter Biden — illustrate the ways in which his family profited from relationships built over Joe Biden’s decades in public service …

The contract, signed on Aug. 2, 2017, stated that Hunter Biden would get a one-time retainer of $500,000 and would then receive a monthly stipend of $100,000, with his uncle James Biden getting $65,000 a month …

The potential energy projects Hunter Biden discussed with CEFC never came to fruition.

Meanwhile, in yet another revelation, an investigation by Republican Sens. Charles Grassley and Ron Johnson unveiled copies of a receipt for $100,000 to Hunter Biden from Chinese oligarchs with close ties to the CCP. The investigation has also detailed “millions” in other Chinese payments to firms tied to the Bidens.

In short it’s a massive scandal.

As far back as March 2018, in an earlier incarnation of Issues & Insights, we wrote about the corrupt practices of the Obama administration, in particular the apparent familial influence peddling practices of both then-Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry.

Keying off Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer’s meticulously documented 2018 book, “Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends,” we detailed some of the questionable, if not outright illegal, actions of the closely allied Biden and Kerry families:

Schweizer noted in his book, for instance, that both Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry were deeply involved in trade and security talks with China even as that country began its aggressive campaign to expand its military and physical presence in the South China Sea. Contrary to standard diplomatic practice, however, both played ‘good cop,’ not seriously confronting China on its misbehavior.

Remember, Biden and Kerry were close friends from their years spent together in the Senate. So there was little surprise when Biden’s son, Hunter, and Kerry’s stepson, Christopher Heinz, one of the heirs to the Heinz ketchup fortune, went into business together in 2009.

They created a number of equity and real estate investment firms allied to Rosemont Capital, ‘the alternative investment fund of the Heinz Family Office.’

So far so good. Except, ‘Over the next seven years, as both Joe Biden and John Kerry negotiated sensitive and high-stakes deals with foreign governments, Rosemont entities secured a series of exclusive deals with those same foreign governments.’

In December of 2013, for instance, Biden traveled to China for talks. He brought Hunter Biden along. While there, the senior Biden soft-pedaled China’s clear aggression, and played up the bilateral trade partnership. Ten days after the trip concluded, China’s central bank, the Bank of China, set up a $1 billion investment joint venture called Bohai Harvest RST. For the record, the ‘RS’ referred to Biden’s son’s firm, Rosemont Seneca.

Later, in July 2014, Kerry also went to China for talks. The country was then becoming a major problem in Southeast Asia, bullying neighbors, building artificial islands to declare large swaths of the open ocean Chinese territory, and stealing American technology.

Kerry largely ignored those and other transgressions on his trip, instead characterizing the U.S.-China relationship as “the greatest economic alliance trading partnership in the history of humankind.”

As we wrote then, “In the ensuing months, Chinese government-linked firms took major stakes in several of the firms owned or controlled by Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz, and provided them with massive funding totaling billions of dollars. Nor is this the only scandal involving John Kerry.”

The point is, this has all been out there. The sleazy activity has been going on for more than a decade, with little reporting or scrutiny by Big Media. They preferred instead to retail lies about President Donald Trump’s alleged “collusion” with Russia. That has since turned out to be almost entirely a fabrication of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and its numerous Deep State allies.

And these don’t include the money-making shenanigans of Hunter Biden & Co. in Ukraine and Russia. The Bidens took home millions from the widow of the deceased mayor of Moscow and Hunter Biden, with virtually no energy experience at all, received a lucrative sinecure as a member of Ukraine energy giant Burisima’s board of directors.

How do we know all this? It comes from “alternative” and “conservative” publications, blogs and other online media, among them the New York Post, The Federalist, Power Line, RealClearInvestigations, American Thinker, Fox News, The Daily Signal, and many others, including independent investigators Schweizer and occasional Issues & Insights contributor Paul Sperry.

After all this time, why did left-leaning Big Media choose to report the truth now? Could it be they’re terrified of the downward trajectory of the Biden-Harris administration’s ratings in poll after poll, signaling a possible electoral landslide for the GOP next November?

Or are they worried far worse revelations about the Bidens and others are on the way, and they want to get ahead of the curve?

And will the Social Media giants finally issue an apology for their inexcusable stifling of debate and reporting, and stop censoring the truth?

It’s pretty clear to anyone following this sad saga that the mainstream media and Social Media, in ignoring the Bidens’ malfeasance all these years, has been just as damaging to this nation as the Bidens themselves.

  • This sudden Damascene conversion of the msn to acknowledge Biden corruption which has been ongoing for his entire career, smells of a subtle strategy move. Biden will go down after the midterms. The rats are trying to swim away from the vortex. They must believe everyone has Dumb jo’ s memory deficit.

  • Is it that the media is just getting around to it, or…perhaps the plan all along was for puppet Joe to do all the left’s dirty work and then dump him, thus allowing for a more pretentiously acceptable candidate to be their hero in waiting?

  • Sort of: the WA Post as of yesterday in it’s opinion piece tried to sell the idea that 90% of the contents of the laptop were still Russian Propaganda…or at best “unverifiable”.

  • Biden’s utility to his Party, esp. its progressive wing, is at an end. In their war on Trump, Biden was a useful tool. But Biden’s manifest and manifold liabilities (e.g., a jackal’s ethics, the foreign policy touch of a cross-eyed blacksmith, & advancing senility) aside, progressives blame him for failing to convert any of their preferred domestic policies into law, and for those policies making them both highly radioactive. The midterms are a looming existential reckoning, and Dems need a major crisis with which to distract and manipulate. And a constitutional one, at Team Blue’s discretion — swapping presidents, mid-term — will suit nicely.

To induce Biden to voluntarily leave office (vs. forcibly removing him in a protracted legal battle), the Deep State needs the media’s help in rallying the disapproving mob. And to fully participate in tarring and feathering the Bidens, the media must first accept Hunter’s laptop as genuine. So, the NYT, and now WaPo are quickly and quietly publishing ‘worthless-to-priceless’ reappraisals of the evidentiary trove the FBI’s been slow-walking for at least 2-1/2 years.

  • Once again, a dog and pony show to convince us there is still a shred of decency and a desire for justice in our government. Which is not true but comes in handy at election time.

  • The liberal media is laying the foundation for moving Joe out of the White House and back to his basement.

Thay want to be able to say they were sad to do it, but it was necessary for the good of the country.

Problem is: Look who we get next! Kamala the kackling clown.

  • Biden has been on the take for years and so has Lurch.Joe Biteme has never seen a bribe he didn’t take and Lurch is a traitor from the days he was in Vietnam he sold us out then and he is still doing it Kerry hates the United States.

  • Chances are better than 50/50, the big media conglomerates are just as corrupt as the big political figures such as the Bidens.
If it turns out the Bidens are operating like a real crime family, and they end up in court, the news outlets are going to do everything they can to distance themselves, and convince everyone they didn’t know anything about it. They’ll have plausible deniability. They’re essentially propaganda outlets anyway, so expect a lot of anonymous tips to the New York Times to get out of trouble.
