A Biden operative blocks Sen. Ted Cruz from filming conditions inside a border facility full of children.

Say, Whatever Happened To Biden’s Transparency Pledge?

I&I Editorial

“Biden believes that the media is a critical piece of our democracy; that transparency is incredibly important.” – Former White House deputy press secretary T.J. Ducklo

Just two months into his presidency, Joe Biden has already decided that transparency isn’t so important after all, at least when it comes to the border crisis, and that keeping people in the dark is good policy.

Of course, Biden still refuses to admit that there even is a crisis at the border. At his press conference last week, he acted as though the flood of unaccompanied children into the U.S. was as routine as flowers in the spring.

“Nothing has changed,” he said. “It happens every single, solitary year: There is a significant increase in the number of people coming to the border in the winter months of January, February, March. That happens every year.”

It’s not true, of course. Last year, the number of illegal crossings dropped in each of the months Biden claims it always spikes. And the total number of unaccompanied children in 2020 plunged to 33,000 from 80,000 the year before. So far this year, the number of unaccompanied children apprehended far exceeds every year under Donald Trump. So, clearly, something has changed.

Even if what Biden said were true, that a massive surge of unaccompanied children happens every year, it means he was caught entirely flat-footed for this supposedly predictable event. In other words, either Biden is lying or he’s incompetent.

Which is why President Transparency has been pretending there is no crisis while denying the press access to the detention facilities that are currently being overrun with children.

When asked at his press conference about this denial of access, Biden said that he’d continue to shut the media out.

“I will commit to transparency,” he said, “soon as I am in a position to be able to implement what we are doing right now.”

The reporter then asked: “Just to be clear: How soon will that be, Mr. President?

Biden: “I don’t know, to be clear.”

It took a Democratic congressman from Texas – Rep. Henry Cuellar – to smuggle out photos of one detention facility. The pictures are disturbing. Children are stuffed into glass-walled areas, sitting on the floor with only foil blankets. Another Cuellar photo shows hundreds of girls packed in a single room.

Here’s one of Cueller’s pictures that “Face the Nation” – to its credit – showed over the weekend.

Biden is so opposed to any transparency at these facilities that he sent an operative to block Sen. Ted Cruz’s camera when he tried to film conditions inside one of them.

The operative robotically states “please respect the rules” as she moves around to stay right in front of the lens. You can watch the pathetic display below.

Just try to imagine the wall-to-wall 24/7 outcry from the press, politicians, celebrities, late-night “comedians” if Trump had done something like this.

If anything, Biden is a worse offender since he solemnly promised a new era of honesty and tell-it-like-it-is transparency.

  • “I will commit to transparency,” he said, “soon as I am in a position to be able to implement what we are doing right now.” -Biden

That is neither incompetence nor lying. Biden is being quite clear: He is going to pursue a policy of resettling peoples from south of the border to change the racial/ethnic demographics of the USA (dark skin pigments will rule; a new racism), create a one-party state (at his press conference, he even hinted the GOP might not be around in 2024), and increase income inequality (by bringing in more poor, unskilled people, particularly other people’s children; which will lend fuel to Marxist economic inequality critiques). Then when immigrant resettlement, a repopulated “blue” Texas, and a one-party USA (under BLM, anti-fa, Marxism, athesism, etc.) are fait accompli Biden will let you view the results. It should all be very clear.

However, the media is so obsessively locked into old-style arguments about government secrecy/transparency (valid & important) and truth-telling that it has ignored the overarching policy motivations and implications. The party in power is deliberately creating a lack of transparency, so that the news media stuck in their old-mode of thinking (transparency vs secrecy) will be so incensed and preoccupied that they ignore or overlook the underlying policy of creating a one-party USA (Dem/socialist/Marxist; darker skin pigments replacing white via immigrant resettlement; destroying Anglo-European culture and belief in god, etc.). Far from incompetence, the party in power understands the media well and has brilliantly spun and manipulated the media and congress into taking up the humanitarian cudgel and ignoring the larger political motivations driving open borders and creating the “crisis”. The media has swallowed the bait, hook, line and sinker. Unity for the party in power means one nation under BLM, anti-fa, athesism, etc. That unity is to be achieved by multiple means, including unlimited immigration via open borders, voting reform (nationalization of Chicago mayor Richard Daley’s “vote early and often” policy), cancel culture (to expel and deplatform dissenters from social media, jobs, ability to earn a living, etc., for starters). The media and congress have been spun like a top, and cannot stop spinning.
