Schools Are Opening — Except On The Left Coast And In The Swamp

Burbio public schools tracker update shows:

• % US K-12 students attending “virtual-only” schools = 31.1% (from 33.6% last week)
• % US K-12 students attending “traditional” in-person/every day schools = 42.6%
• % US K-12 students attending “hybrid” schools = 26.3%

Even with cases plunging nationally by more than 70% since early January, the Biden/CDC map still irrationally calls for most of the country to keep schools closed — and all school sports virtual. That’s the “red zone” on this map:

We can’t help but notice that outside of the educational hellholes of the West Coast and DC, Maryland, and Virginia — the rest of the country is opening schools.

Democrats are rushing through the $128 billion plus up for K-12 education in the Biden “stimulus” even though the $54 billion from the December bill is still unspent – and CBO says only $6 billion of the new bill could be spent this year. They are exploiting the desperation of parents whose kids are still being locked out of school – especially in these two areas that are so much worse than the rest of the country. But it is crystal clear that schools don’t need any big increase in spending to open. Much of the country has been doing it since August.
