Riots, Brought To You By District Attorneys Who Won’t Prosecute

I&I Editorial

Radicalized district attorneys in cities across America are putting violent rioters and looters back on the streets, and letting other hardened criminals walk. More than anyone, one man is responsible for this outrage: Billionaire socialist George Soros.

St. Louis is a case in point. There, prosecutor Kim Gardner let 36 people arrested for looting and rioting go scot-free, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Gardner’s office used the pathetic excuse that it needed “essential evidence” from the police, implying it had none.

One wonders how people caught in flagrante delicto could simply be released. The answer is, Gardner is a far-left acolyte of Soros, having been the recipient during her 2016 election of no fewer than three separate donations from a Soros-backed political-action committee.

It’s not the only example of Soros’ malign influence. Philadelphia District Attorney Lawrence Krasner, who was elected with Soros money, reportedly “has no interest” in prosecuting rioters in the city. As infuriating as this and other instances of prosecutorial misconduct are to many of us, it’s likely we’ll see more of it in the future.

“Financier and left-wing philanthropist George Soros contributed large sums to progressive candidates running for district attorney all around the country, apparently in hopes of changing the law enforcement system at the county or district level,” according to a December 2019 report from the Capital Research Center.

Beginning in 2015, the CRC report notes, Soros doled out more than $17 million “on district attorney and other local races in swing states such as Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Arizona, but also in large, predominantly left-of-center states such as California and New York.”

Notably, he spent a whopping $2 million just to help progressive Paul Penzone beat longtime law-and-order incumbent Joe Arpaio for sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona.

“He has given millions of dollars in grants to candidates in several other counties as well,” the study notes, and supports with evidence.

One of those candidates is Chesa Boudin. The Soros-backed extreme leftist and anti-incarceration candidate was elected San Francisco district attorney last year. One of the former Rhodes scholar’s main qualifications for office seems to be that he served as both a “translator” and “adviser” on America to that beacon of human rights and justice, Venezuela’s socialist dictator Hugo Chavez.

As the Washington Times noted: “Chesa Boudin, San Francisco’s newest district attorney, the guy once referred to as ‘communist’ by city sheriffs, kicked off his new law enforcement leadership role by, get this, firing seven of the community’s experienced prosecutors — the ones, notably, known as tough on crime.”

So who is Boudin? Glad you asked. His radical roots go deeper than his resume.

He was raised by Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, terrorist Weather Underground members, after his biological parents, Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert, were sentenced to lengthy prison sentences for the felony murders of two police officers and a security guard during a robbery. No, they didn’t shoot anyone, but they did drive the getaway car so those who did could escape.

Surely, Boudin, who previously worked in the San Francisco public defender’s office, learned something from that, right? Here it is, according to an interview with NBC News:

“Certainly, one lesson I learned is how … punitive it can be when your dad, arguably, was given an extra 55 years’ minimum sentence than your mother. It also obviously highlights the value of a good lawyer.”

Uh, how about learning the lesson that murdering human beings is wrong? We’ll have to wait for an answer.

What’s behind all this? An attempt to undermine the American justice system at every level. Soros and his followers believe our court system and police procedures are so corrupt, so hopelessly racist, that justice is literally impossible.

In 2014, Soros gifted the ACLU with $50 million to fight “mass incarceration.” Since then, using his own Open Society Foundations and donations to other Soros-linked organizations, such as the Tides Foundation, he has continued to fund his attack on America’s justice system.

Yes, there are rare incidents of racist and illegal behavior on the part of police and prosecutors. None of our politically directed institutions is infallible. And when such things take place, as now seems in the tragic death of George Floyd, the perpetrators should be punished.

But a system that refuses to lock up those who commit criminal acts out of some sense that it’s karmic compensation for “racism” and “injustice” is no system at all. It is legal chaos.

And, taken a step further, the linking of justice to mob-imposed outrage is dangerous. That’s why the statue of Lady Justice, once found in so many courts around the nation, is always blindfolded. Justice isn’t about politics; it’s about the law. Justice is blind, as the saying goes.

The mainstream media go out of their way to downplay the 89-year-old Soros’ role in trying to “transform” the American justice system. It’s to be expected, given the fact that much of the media now simply follow the progressive left’s script in “reporting” the news.

But like so many others on the far left who have gotten fabulously wealthy in America’s free-market system while protected by our laws and Constitution, Soros hates America. He wants to tear it down.

And no, that’s not an exaggeration. As he himself has said, “The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States.” He believes that, and is acting on it.

So it’s not surprising he’s funding American extremists to do the job. By seeding local justice agencies and courts with far-left lawyers, Soros is helping to hollow out our justice system, once the envy of the world. Those who are the supposed protectors of the rule of law are actually its enemies.

Just as with recent revelations of misconduct at the FBI, Justice Department and CIA, Americans would be well-advised to pay close attention also to their local races for judges, district attorneys and other positions of power in the justice system. Any interference by Soros is a red flag, pun intended, that your local justice system is being subverted.

  • And the people in these Leftis cities will keep voting Democrat! You just can’t make it up!

  • And the cities will deteriorate and the tax base will erode and the cities will beg for federal funding to pay for there own ineptitude …. and on and on

  • The prosecution SHOULD be done by the FBI and the DoJ. Schwartz György is in clear violation of RICO, but that sewage will not touch him!!!

  • Leftist cities will wind up in ruins, the irony is so thick, it’s going to end up being the groundcover for the remains…

  • The charges need to be federal charges so local FA’s and judges (some who are friends with the perps’ parents) don’t get the choice of letting them walk away scot-free.

  • This is a high return investment since so few DA positions get much in the way of contributions… and if you think about it, large contributions should be a significant warning flag for an election of that role. As in a judge’s election campaign, large contributions to an inexperienced DA are a sign that someone wants something… and these ‘prosecutors are delivering for their master.

It will be a sad but educational experiment for those that do not succumb to their cities and states being run by corrupt machines (talking to you Chicago, Baltimore, Washington D.C, San Francisco…) to see if the new policies promote the welfare of **all** their citizens or just the paymasters.

Hard to believe anyone with a heartbeat can’t model and predict the outcome.

  • This is exactly on target. If you don’t prosecute police misconduct and abuse, they’ll push the boundaries until they find the limit. Just like the cop that killed Floyd. And this article doesn’t even mention the fact that Dem. presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar, had the opportunity to prosecute this cop earlier, and declined, along with all other cases of police abuse, during her term as prosecutor. https://www.theweek.com/speedreads/916926/amy-klobuchar-didnt-prosecute-officer-center-george-floyds-death-left-case-successor

Democrats don’t prosecute other Democrats in government. To me, it looks like professional courtesy among the political class to not attack each other, unless they’re in the GOP. It’s not racism, it’s something the political class gives itself.

  • Planned Chaos as Ludwig von Mises termed the neo-Marxist strategy i.e. constantly create chaos and impede solutions while undermining and overloading the system per Cloward and Piven until Americans are convinced the Constitution is obsolete…in need of replacement by a social justice blank check like that of South Africa so admired by RBG.

All can expect the Antifa et al to precipitate a violent confrontation, quite possibly today in DC, and a large scale campaign of property vandalism. Whether one wants to admit it or not there will be violence and death in that the ‘War of Maneuver’ Gramsci strategized has commenced.
