The Democrats didn’t like President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address because he highlighted data, such as the strong economy and record employment under his watch, they’d rather voters didn’t know. But those points were just a start. There’s much more about Trump that his opponents want to hide from the public.
The Democrats have stayed true to their talking points, calling Trump a “monster,” a “white supremacist,” and a “dictator” at every opportunity. While campaigning in New Hampshire, Joe Biden said the president “doesn’t have a shred of decency in him.” Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg wants to convince voters “this election is a decency check on this president.” Tom Steyer, who apparently didn’t wish to strain his vocabulary’s limits, simply says Trump is “a bad man.”
None of those charges would stick, though, if the electorate knew that:
- In 1986, Trump helped stop the foreclosure of Annabel Hill’s family farm in Georgia. He contributed $39,000 toward the money she needed to pay off the mortgage.
- Two years later, Trump sent his personal jet to fly 3-year-old Andrew Ten across the country for critical medical care after commercial airlines refused to allow his life-support system on board.
- In 2000, Trump gave a “generous” check to the family of a young girl named Megan, who was suffering from Brittle Bone Disease. He saw her on the Maury Povich show and was moved.
- Trump not only allowed actress Jennifer Hudson, who is black, and her family to stay free at his Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago after her mother and brother were murdered in 2008, he apparently increased security for them.
- Three years before winning the presidency, Trump gave a $10,000 check to bus driver Darnell Barton, who stopped a suicidal woman from jumping off an overpass in Buffalo.
- A year later, Trump wrote a $25,000 check to retired Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, who had been in a Mexican jail for seven months. While carrying loaded weapons, he had made a wrong turn on a California freeway that forced him into the Tijuana port of entry with no way to turn back. Trump sent the money to help Tahmooressi “get back on his feet.”
These examples, which have been independently verified, were first compiled along with others at Townhall by Liz Crokin. As an entertainment journalist, Crokin “had the opportunity to cover Trump for over a decade,” and in all of those years, she “never heard anything negative about the man until he announced he was running for president.”
“Trump’s kindness knows no bounds and his generosity has and continues to touch the lives of people from every sex, race and religion,” she wrote. “When Trump sees someone in need, he wants to help.”
Of course Trump’s acts of kindness, wildly inconsistent with his public persona, aren’t predictive of a successful presidency. But they don’t fit the outlandish caricatures sketched out by his opponents, and are therefore dangerous to their agenda.
Trump’s personal generosity is also the complete opposite of the Democratic Party’s campaign to replace private benevolence with government programs funded by collectivist methods. Any hint of wealthy Americans voluntarily helping others has to be buried, as they are the host organisms in a parasitic arrangement. The Democrats’ political future depends on keeping voters as far away from facts as possible.
When not waging personal attacks, the Democrats have tried to convince voters that the economy is shambles, and that as the rich grow richer, the suffering of the poor increases. But just as the facts reveal Trump to be much less than a demon, the data show them to be liars. Earnings of the bottom 10 percent have grown 4.9% under Trump while they rose a mere 1.9% during the Obama presidency. Under this “racist” president, black Americans have thrived, their earnings up 3.8%, a stark contrast to the 1.8% growth under President Barack Obama.
Trump laid out a long list of his economic achievements in his State of the Union address, yet there’s actually more. As we noted here Tuesday, four days after the speech the Bureau of Labor Statistics told us the economy created 225,000 more jobs than expected in January. The BLS also announced average hourly wages grew 3.1% over a year ago, another mark that beat expectations. It was also the 18th straight month in which wages increased by at least 3%.
These numbers are poison to Democrats’ efforts to beat Trump in November. And so is this non-economic data point:
“Nine in 10 Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in their personal life,” says the Gallup organization, hitting “a new high” over a four-decade trend.
Ideally, presidents should have little impact on our personal lives. But if the trend continues through the spring, into the summer, and lasts until fall, voters are not going to be in any mood to change presidents. If things are going well for them, why should they? History shows they took out their frustrations on President Jimmy Carter, who lost in a landslide to Ronald Reagan 16 months after he made his “malaise speech,” which didn’t leave Americans feeling good about themselves.
Democrats know that the more voters learn about Trump, the slimmer their chances are in 2020. There’s a reason they look so desperate.

Using these vague “policy violations,” Google is now threatening to demonetize us. It’s part of Big Tech’s effort to silence conservative voices.

The first sentence says wages are up 3% year over year. The next one implies the increase is 3% each month for 18 months. I have forgotten the applicable math equation but I think that if this 18 month statement is true, the increase over that span would be on the order of 150% and that’s a long way from 3% YoY. I believe the author meant to say that for 18 months the increase has been 3% annualized
it’s called a moving average – for every one of the last 18 months the wages have been been at 3% or more year over year for the corresponding month.
I understand that and you do as well. My critique was this is not clear for some who may not be so economically sophisticated.
I was just watching videos from the 2016 election. That’s what Trump needs to show, he has kept every promise he made and then some. In 2016 we were facing nuclear war with North Korea, I had terrorist literally living in my neighborhood along with MS-13. That’s all gone. Our borders are secured, Mexico is paying for the wall, he stopped the Paris agreement that would have tripled our energy bills. Trump threatened Newsom to take care of the fires, like magic we had none last summer. Trump saved our second amendment and won several lawsuits against the state of California. I could go on and on. We are blessed and I don’t take a day for granted….
You are correct in that ideally, president should have as little impact on our lives as possible. This really shows just how much impact presidents have had prior to Trump. From signing poor legislation and not forcing congress to do it over (something Trump is also guilty of) to even poorer trade deals, to executive orders, to not keeping eyes on the bureaucracy within the executive branch to curb it from getting out of control, past presidents of both sides of the aisle have done a terrible disservice to us, and had a far larger impact than anyone could have possibly imagined. It took Trump undoing a small portion of it (so far) to bring us all back into the perspective that our government can do way better for us, mostly by staying out of the way and only running interference where necessary.
I think, had past presidents stayed out of the way, and truly been a safeguard against deep state actors, out of control congresses, and been wise international negotiators, we would easily be sitting at an annual growth rate of 5-7% year over year. More importantly, leading the world in efficiency far better than how we do it now. Our schools would be top notch institutions without spending top notch money. We could lead the world in safety practices and because our economy would be humming along so well , we could actually help poor nations turn things around for themselves by helping in ways that count, not just military or food aid but actual infrastructure and education. I think the best version of america is one where we have so much money to spare we can voluntarily help the world, and consequently the whole world is a better, and more peaceful place.
I know this sounds pipe-dreamish but I see the changes Trump has enacted so far and I realize its a drop in the bucket as to what could be done. I thank God every day for Trump, and at the same time I look back and think, man what could have been done differently prior to Trump, and what more can be done now. Our potential as a nation, while not limitless, is certainly immeasurable. This very well could be a turning point much like the industrial revolution.
Think of what our country could be without the ridiculous democRats trying to “resist” change for the better. democRats only propose legislation that’s helps the democrat party, not we the people. democRats are the enemy within.
Don’t forget the roll the press plays as well as the Dem’s who are the enemy within.
Dodged a bullet in 2016 never thought in my life I would have a President greater than Reagan.
There’s a documentary on Amazon Prime called The Strange Name Movie, which includes a segment about Donald Trump, M.D., a cancer researcher. Some years ago, businessman Donald J. Trump personally called Dr. Trump to enquire about getting an employee’s cancer stricken son into a clinical trial.
Subsequently, DJT helped further Dr. Trump’s research efforts by appearing in a fundraising video and making what Dr. Trump refers to in the documentary as a “generous contribution” to Dr. Trump’s research. There is something seriously flawed with the caricature of DJT as a heartless brute.
The deadliest fact (for the Democrats) about President Trump is this one: He has kept his campaign promises to the extent a reluctant, indifferently (at best) cooperative Congress has allowed it. And the American people have felt the effects, and we are applauding.

Going out on a limb but probably shouldn’t, but here goes, I’m going to think you mean the actions of the Dems are appalling. If you mean that as a slam against how well the country is doing… well there’s no hope for hard headedness. The only cure is self education and associating with a better group of people.
The Democrats are not the only ones leading the charge against Trump. In fact, they are NOT leading the charge against Trump. The mainstream news media, entertainment and education are the ones leading the charge. To this day, the mainstream media still reports that Russia and Trump colluded to change the results of the 2016 election. My next door neighbor in VERY rural Oklahoma only watches ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN news. He has absolutely NO idea that the Mueller report proved that there was no Russia collusion. He has no idea that the phone call transcript from Zelensky was released and proves Trump did ask Zelensky for dirt on Biden for military aid. He has no idea that the House impeachment inquiry disallowed ANY witnesses for Trump, nor that Adam Schiff lied and lied and lied about everything having to do with the impeachment. He is completely convinced that Trump forced Zelensky (he also doesn’t know the name of Zelensky, he just uses “Ukraine” like the country was a person) to give him dirt on Biden for the aid. He has no idea that Biden used a quid pro quo to have the Ukrainian prosecutor fired and that that prosecutor was investigating corruption regarding Burisma. I listen to ABC radio news every hour during the day for four years. They have not said ONE positive word regarding Trump, NOT. ONE. WORD. positive. They have ONLY repeated falsehoods about Trump and when proven wrong, they lie some more or ignore that particular lie. How Trump has poll numbers above four percent is amazing to me, and demonstrates that a little bit over half the country has figured out that every word the media reports is one hundred percent false.
You assume theres a divide between the MSM and the Democrat Party.
In my neighborhood in San Diego we have a range of ages, though most all are college educated. To the last person they all believe exactly the same as your neighbor. Completely embracing and fervently defending the outright lies of the media and the Democrat party. Spitting on the ground at the mention of Trump’s name.
Collective, mutually reinforced ignorance is a powerful thing and is far from location-specific.
In many ways through his life, Trump seems to do his part trying to live up to Luke 12:48 (NAB): “…Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.”
He certainly is spot on with his campaign slogan “Promises Made – Promises Kept.”
Finally, both before and after all the intrigue of the impeachment travesty, where is the litany of disgruntled employees across his business history? That seems to be none. Even his ex-wives seemed to be in accord with his run for the Presidency. We know the disgruntled employees in his political life have primarily been holdovers from the dismal Obama administration – persons President Trump was too kind and courteous to summarily dismiss. While summary dismissals long have been the practice of incoming Democrat Chief Executives.

i question the data in this “article” as there are no specific references. i saw a graphic on blackdemographics.com about median black household income and it grew about 3% per year from 2011 through 2016 as we recovered from the Bush great recession. $36,061 to 41,323. Since 2016 , the growth has been flat 2018 = $41,361. As far as overall wage growth.
A more complete set of wage and pay data is reported quarterly. The latest release came out in December for the third quarter. These figures are not only adjusted for inflation but also include fringe benefits, which account for just under a third of total compensation.
At first blush, it makes sense to focus primarily on the monthly data which shows greater than a 3% growth YOY . This type of data released by the BLS is released monthly so it is newer. Newer data is, well, newer, and market participants and companies prefer the latest information when making decisions about investments, hiring and so on.
But the effect of inflation means that the same US$1 bill buys less stuff over time as prices increase.
From December 2016 to September 2019, nominal wages rose 6.79% from $22.83 to $24.38. But after factoring in inflation, average wages barely budged, climbing just 0.42% in the period.
Incorporating fringe benefits into the picture adds another wrinkle.
The inflation-adjusted or real value of fringe benefits, which include compensation that comes in the form of health insurance, retirement and bonuses, declined 1.7% in the three-year period.Altogether, that means total real compensation slipped 0.22% from the end of 2016 to September 2019.
I’m sure he has had some sporadic moments of kindness , but possibly only in a self serving or tax deductible way. What about his charity organization he was forced to close?Trump used the charity’s money to pay legal settlements for his private business, to purchase art for one of his clubs and to make a prohibited political donation, all illegal. We put both Leona Helmsley and Martha Stewart in jail for less than what Trump has done over the years

Right now we can be generous only in careful, thoughtful ways in helping foreign nations. That is because Pres Obama doubled our nation’s debt in 8 short years and Congress passed longterm commitments we can ill afford.
The only way out of our financial mess is to grow our way out. In that, Trump is a godsend. His reworking of the U.S. economy is genius, along with pulling us out of foreign conflicts and entanglements. Him getting NATO members to begin fully paying their part towards their own defense instead of offloading it on the U.S. was long overdue.
I think it’s the businessman in him. Trump is used to a world where you do the job or you go under. Period. No getting off with a speech, committees, studying the issue, conferences … yada yada yada … forever like politicians do.
That’s why President Trump will win big in November. He has earned the privilege. He has earned our votes.
Trump has more work to do, though, including completing the Wall and rebuilding our failing infrastructure. Who better to tackle that conundrum than one of the world’s Master builders? Personally, I can’t wait to see it! MAGA 2020

* Trump recently signed 3 bills to benefit Native people. One gives compensation to the Spokane tribe for loss of their lands in the mid-1900s, one funds Native language programs, and the third gives federal recognition to the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians in Montana.
* This month Trump finalized the creation of Space Force as our 6th Military branch.
* This month Trump signed a law to make cruelty to animals a federal felony so that animal abusers face tougher consequences.
* Violent crime has fallen every year he’s been in office after rising during the 2 years before he was elected.
* Trump signed a bill making CBD and Hemp legal.
* Trump’s EPA gave $100 million to fix the water infrastructure problem in Flint, Michigan.
* Under Trump’s leadership, in 2018 the U.S. surpassed Russia and Saudi Arabia to become the world’s largest producer of crude oil.
* Trump signed a law ending the gag orders on Pharmacists that prevented them from sharing money-saving information.
* Trump signed the “Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act” (FOSTA), which includes the “Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act” (SESTA) which both give law enforcement and victims new tools to fight sex trafficking.
* Trump signed a bill to require airports to provide spaces for breastfeeding Moms.
* The 25% lowest-paid Americans enjoyed a 4.5% income boost in November 2019, which outpaces a 2.9% gain in earnings for the country’s highest-paid workers.
* Low-wage workers are benefiting from higher minimum wages and from corporations that are increasing entry-level pay.
* Trump signed the biggest wilderness protection & conservation bill in a decade and designated 375,000 acres as protected land.

* In the eight years prior to President Trump’s inauguration, prescription drug prices increased by an average of 3.6% per year. Under Trump, drug prices have seen year-over-year declines in nine of the last ten months, with a 1.1% drop as of the most recent month.
* He created a White House VA Hotline to help veterans and principally staffed it with veterans and direct family members of veterans.

* Under his leadership ISIS has lost most of their territory and been largely dismantled.
* ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was killed.
* Signed the first Perkins CTE reauthorization since 2006, authorizing more than $1 billion for states each year to fund vocational and career education programs.
* Executive order expanding apprenticeship opportunities for students and workers.
* Trump issued an Executive Order prohibiting the U.S. government from discriminating against Christians or punishing expressions of faith.
* Signed an executive order that allows the government to withhold money from college campuses deemed to be anti-Semitic and who fail to combat anti-Semitism.
* President Trump ordered a halt to U.S. tax money going to international organizations that fund or perform abortions.
* Trump imposed sanctions on the socialists in Venezuela who have killed their citizens.
* Finalized new trade agreement with South Korea.
* Made a deal with the European Union to increase U.S. energy exports to Europe.
* Withdrew the U.S. from the job killing TPP deal.
* Secured $250 billion in new trade and investment deals in China and $12 billion in Vietnam.
* Okay’d up to $12 billion in aid for farmers affected by unfair trade retaliation.
* Has had over a dozen US hostages freed, including those Obama could not get freed.
* Trump signed the Music Modernization Act, the biggest change to copyright law in decades.
* Trump secured Billions that will fund the building of a wall at our southern border.
* The Trump Administration is promoting second chance hiring to give former inmates the opportunity to live crime-free lives and find meaningful employment.
* Trump’s DOJ and the Board Of Prisons launched a new “Ready to Work Initiative” to help connect employers directly with former prisoners.
* President Trump’s historic tax cut legislation included new Opportunity Zone Incentives to promote investment in low-income communities across the country.
* 8,764 communities across the country have been designated as Opportunity Zones.
* Opportunity Zones are expected to spur $100 billion in long-term private capital investment in economically distressed communities across the country.
* Trump directed the Education Secretary to end Common Core.
* Trump signed the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund into law.

* U.S. oil production recently reached all-time high so we are less dependent on oil from the Middle East.
* The U.S. is a net natural gas exporter for the first time since 1957.
* NATO allies increased their defense spending because of his pressure campaign.
* Withdrew the United States from the job-killing Paris Climate Accord in 2017 and that same year the U.S. still led the world by having the largest reduction in Carbon emissions.
* Has his circuit court judge nominees being confirmed faster than any other new administration.
* Had his Supreme Court Justice’s Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh confirmed.
* Moved U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
* Agreed to a new trade deal with Mexico & Canada that will increase jobs here and $$$ coming in.

* The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act signed into law by Trump doubled the maximum amount of the child tax credit available to parents and lifted the income limits so more people could claim it.

* In 2019 President Donald Trump signed the Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education and Support Act (CARES) into law which allocates $1.8 billion in funding over the next five years to help people with autism spectrum disorder and to help their families.
* In 2019 President Trump signed into law two funding packages providing nearly $19 million in new funding for Lupus specific research and education programs, as well an additional $41.7 billion in funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the most Lupus funding EVER.
* Another upcoming accomplishment to add: In the next week or two Trump will be signing the first major anti-robocall law in decades called the TRACED Act (Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence.) Once it’s thelaw, the TRACED Act will extend the period of time the FCC has to catch & punish those who intentionally break telemarketing restrictions. The bill also requires voice service providers to develop a framework to verify calls are legitimate before they reach your phone.
* US stock market continually hits all-time record highs.

I have heard similar stories of Trump’s benevolence which do seem totally at odds with his public persona. Maybe its time for him to and try to change that. He is in a close race with a socialist when, were it not for his negative public persona, he should be 15pts ahead.
Here’s my theory: Most Americans grew up in a neighborhood, with neighbors ch like themselves, and neither knew nor met those who were vastly different, having grown up in vastly different circumstances. I did not grow up in a neighborhood, but 9 miles from the nearest very small town. A neighbor (several miles away) was sent out to herd sheep when he finished 3rd grade. Never had any further schooling. Lots of people with vastly different backgrounds and ways of thinking. I suspect that many of the “never-Trumpers” are suffering from that lack of experience. The Queen’s accent , the blonde comb forward, the too long red ties, and the tweets! Among other things, probably the quick attack back to those who have attacked him. The accusations against him have little relation to the actual person, and are often so unrelated that it seems weird. Of course it must scare them when the economy is doing so well under his reign, but the refuse to recognize the gains. Anyway, that’s my take.
