Earth Day Predictions In 1970: It’s A Miracle We’re Still Here

Man has been predicting the imminent end of the world for about as long as man has been around. All of the predictions have one thing in common: None has ever panned out. Yet they pour forth still, and they come extra hard and fast on Earth Day.

With that in mind, it’s worth looking back at the predictions made on and around the first Earth Day in 1970. They’re a good reminder that we should take today’s predictions of a coming climate catastrophe for what they are — speculation fueled by politics.
