California Update

What’s going in America’s most populous, wealthiest, and perhaps Bluest state?

Well, of course, lawmakers want to hike taxes. Housing is still wildly expensive. Hostility toward business seems to be a policy priority. And the plastic police are more zealous than ever.

If only California were more like Texas — or Florida. It’s not being overrun with Medieval diseases the way California is. Nor is it conducting an experiment in socialism as is the Golden State.

The path is unsustainable. A reckoning is coming. Either policymakers will shift direction, or this slow-moving disaster will cause voters to make the necessary changes. California cannot afford to become even Bluer.
